Booo! Not a Hot Deal. You're only supposed to post Hot Deals in this section of the forums. Also, Thread Topics like "Antivirus" are not nearly descriptive enough in any forum.

Just learning you the ropes, n00b ;)

Ditto.

There are stickies at the top of forums for a reason - they're generally important.

Hence this sticky thread for people who are looking for hot deals: ~~~~ IWANNA ~~~~

Be wary of Symantecs Upgrade MIR's. They claim that 4 or 5 different things are acceptable as proof of purchase of previous version, but when I filed one they canceled the rebate because I had included the CD-rom instead of the UPC code (which they told me in the cancellation was required).

This week BestBuy has the 3 pack of Norton stuff free AMIR if you have previous versions. Check the BB site.

Works better that the crap you pay money for. I couldn't wait for McAffee to expire so I could get some software that worked.
McAfee does suck. McAfee still forces you to have the stupid Security Center installed even if you only want the Antivirus component, and you must register to get updates. Norton requires neither, except anonymous product activation.
