I currently use Norton firewall and Antivirus. However I have heard some people say that Mcafee is better. I just found out that as a MSN subscriber I can get Mcafee for free. So Is it true that Mcafee is better then Norton or were those people just some Mcafee fanboys? Thanks for the info!

Many users prefer the free AVG antivirus from grisoft.com, compared with NAV; I'm currently using the free trial beta version of Trend Micro's PC-cillan 2005.

For firewall, I like Sygate's.

Is it alright to have different/more than 1 antivirus program on real time monitoring? I know its not safe using more than 1 av program at once to scan...

I use Panda Platinum and I think it's great. AVG is also very good. Norton and McAfee are allright, but seem to be real system hogs IMHO.

Kaspersky is very good too.

Same, case with AVG. But Kaspersky seemed to make my computer wwwwwaaaayyyyy slower.... i downloaded it from their site. I waited 3 minutes to open the control panel to delete it...
