Symantec Antivirus found a trojan on my computer while running a full virus scan. But the Realtime scanner never deteccted it. Is it safe to assume that the virus was never 'activated' or running on the system, if the realtime scan did not detect it? Maybe it was just sitting there, but never got executed?
 
There are plenty of "time activated" worms and trojans out there. For instance, one would wait untill a certain day in april then do its thing.
