Antivirus for Office Use

I want to know a good antivirus software for my office PC. I have Norton, but the problem with Norton is that it slows down my PC way too much while it's scanning. The other thing is malware detection is kind off poor with Norton I feel, I might be wrong. The office PC is mainly used for billing so I need a good antivirus which even if I run along with my billing the whole thing doesn't slow down too much.

Can someone please suggest a few softwares I could get? Thanks! 🙂

For your "office" PC, is this at home or actually in the work place. If in the workplace I'd imaging whoever is in charge of IT would provide something for you.

Otherwise, you ahve a few options here. For antivirus there are free solutions and ones you'd have to purchase a license for. AVG, AntiVir, Avast are among some of the free ones. AVG and Avast being good I hear.

I personally went from Norton Antivirus(slow, and never provided the protection needed). Went to Norton 360(huge improvement and actually like it). Now I am on a client known as BitDefender. It had one of those "best choice" awards from some magazine company so I gave it a try. So far so good!

For malware/spyware, etc. you should always use another client for that. Scan daily, weekly, whatever is needed. Spybot, Adaware(not on the top of my list anymore), among other free utilities to check these issues.

Thanks mate for the quick reply! 🙂

I'll try Avast or AVG for sure. I heard about Mcafee...hows that? So, I'm not the only one who feels that Norton is bad for detection, I just get mad it how much it slows down the system! For Spyware I use Superantispyware at home which is brilliant.

Trend Micro Office Scan 8.0 is what our company uses.
My brothers company uses McAfee Corp Edition 8 with a Perpetual License that never expires.

My work machines use McAfee unfortunately. In addition to it, I have a U3 thumbdrive with the U3 edition of Avast on it. Works great for me, and I can use the software to scan in addition to the existing software. Doesn't help much if the original software installed is slowing down your machine though.

There aren't many free A/Vs that are allowed to be used for commercial endeavors. I use Antivir free, and I would be happy to pay for it for commercial use. My second choice would be NOD32
