linux.... av..... the only time i see them together is if there is a "does not need a" between em

It's only really necessary if you're running a server for people running Windows.

running linux for a while...never came across any viruses
running windows for a while...viruses everyday

i believe clamav is for linux servers scanning for windows viruses?
