Antivirus/firewall messing up my desktop apps

The new udates to the Macafee online clinic and firewall are playing havoc with my desktop applications. Well, Diablo 2 is being hit the hardest. Every 5-10 minutes it finds itself booted off the desktop and reduced to the tool bar. If I click on the tool bar the game starts up again from where I left off. Other applications just show a noticable blink every 5-10 minutes. I am assuming that it's Macafee updates since it started happening shortly after the insallatiion.

Macafee, naturally are denying that it coulcd be their problem.

Anyone experience similar happenings. Anyone know how to deal with it?

Any help would be appreciated. I've been playing the Diablo 2X for a year now, and this little glitch is irritating me to the point that I don't like to play anymore. Pi$$ing me off.
 
Would love to try and help but you should include system specs to help diagnose the problem.

You may try uninstalling the suspect software and play your game to try and isolate the problem. If the problem persists then it will obviously be some other problem.
 
System specs...P4 1.5, 384 rd ram, Windows 2000, GeForce 2 Gts, 40 gig hd, soundblaster live oem,.

Any help would be appreciated
 

I have an even worse case.

Norton Antivirus + Zonealarm = IFINITE BSOD!

I formatted TWICE and i still get BSOD. Finally i give up Zonealarm.
