Has anybody been able to get the update notifier to stop popping up evertime it updates? And does anybody know if it says "update fails" when there isnt any updates when tries to update?

right click on the tray icon and click start antivir. Select the Scheduler tab and click edit selected job (icon next to the trash can picture). Follow the options until you get to an option that says display mode. Change it to minimized or invisible and that should get rid of your update notifier.

Sorry, I think I know what you mean. If you're referring to the "Upgrade for anti-spyware" message that pops up then I don't know of any natural way to stop it. I use Zone Alarm to prevent its execution whenever I update.

This is getting annoying. I was gone for only 1 hour and I had about 5 of those popups on my screen.

yeah, i wish i knew a way to get rid of it. its only one pop up a day for a free, good av so i guess i can live with it. i only get multiple pop ups if it failed to update, like this morning i got three and i still had a warning from msft.

which brings me to another weird thing. i don't remember seeing a "outdated anti virus" system tray warning with the previous version. i get one when ever it fails to update now, even if its just one day.

Has anyone tried the Premium version? I was using AntiVir 6 for a few months and just upgraded to AntiVir 7 tonight, and I am very impressed.
The AntiVir 7 Premium only costs about $24 (1yr) with current exchange rates, which seems competitive. And I *hate* both McAfee and Norton AV.
The premium has extra features (it scans incomming email, scans for spyware, and supports directory scanning). And I imagine it would get rid of those pop-ups.

But is it worth it? Does anyone use it?
