I remember seeing this movie in the theaters, I couldnt stop laughing when Ryan Phillipe's character glanced at a page of code for two seconds that Tim Robbins showed him, not knowing what it actually did and was like "OMG ITS SO OPTIMIZED!"

I wish I could do that! 😀

i gave up on technically analyzing movies a while ago. the minute i think about the science/technology/computer parts of the movie, the minute the movie becomes stupid. So now i prefer to ignore those weird parts and just watch the movie for fun.

Indeed. I just couldn't decide who to oogle harder...they're both so fine.

Honestly, despite hating ryan phillipee or whatever, I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the plot was well done and the story was interesting to me. Sure it wasn't super technically accurate, but it sure beat "hackers" in that regard by about 1000 miles.

I think that the general consensus on this movie is that it's bad/mediocre. I liked it quite a bit for reasons that I cannot easily identify. I'm not even a coder or a computer-person and I liked it. I think we all randomly have bad movies that we like.
