I'd still say it's better than no protection. And with lots of teeth digging in there......I don't want to think about that sensation.
I've been fortunate enough to have avoided any direct hits down below, but just from a few minor bumps, yeah, any injuries in that general region are quite painful. Multiple rows of teeth digging into very sensitive skin - I have my doubts that most men would even be capable of remaining standing with such a device firmly attached.

There are men capable of reciting Shakespeare from memory with a handful of scorpions in their pants. You would be surprised at what some can do. :Q
