Hey, there's nothing hypocritical about this situation . . . Theory 1) he was trying to save her from the harsh life of the street; Theory 2) he figured she needed a little spending money for the holidays; Theory 3) field research . . .

Hey it worked for Pete Townsend with all his child porn and he's not a crusader for anything to justify it.

As far as hippocritters.. it's always great to bust these self-appointed moral directors commiting egregouis immoral acts. Funny they all come from the right eh? William "let it ride" Bennet, Rush "druggies are liars" Limbaugh, ..Jimmy "Pay fo my ho" Swaggart.. the list goes on.

You gotta love them right wing moralists. ;)

The organization, whose full name is Citizens of Metro for Property and Safety and Security, has been trying to stop adult bookstores and sex shops from opening near residential neighborhoods.

I feel sorry for the guy, but I don't see anywhere in the story where he was trying to regulate morality. What is so wrong with preventing adult bookstores and such from being opened near residential neighborhoods or by places where parents may take thier children?

We've got adult establishements near us, but they are in a part of town that are fairly isolated from the general public. I don't care what people want to do with their free time, but if an adult bookstore tried to open in my neighborhood I would be pretty pissed.

Just 'cause you're trying to eliminate a sickness in your community doesn't make you exempt from that sickness. I support his efforts, um, not with the girl, but for the community!

Yeah, he should stop the community from doing what he enjoys to do. That way there will be more of it left for him.

You bring up an interesting point which I think workd to the pshycology of these self-appointed moralists. They think because *they* are weak and can't control themselves obviously no one else can so need laws and punitive measures to prevent thier behavior and maybe thier deamons will go away. I have zero sympathy for people w/o self control. This includes smokers, gamblers, druggies etc all are weak but the choice should still be there for all.

You guys fail to see the difference between the two. He is crusadiang to prevent you from seeing things not from doing things, as long as he had his eyes closed and did not look at the thing he was trying to rent it was OK in his mind.

What contradiction. He was against porn, not prostitution. Maybe he wanted more people to enjoy prostitution and so opposed porn.

So let me guess . . . COMPASS is fiercely opposed to adult bookstores and sex shops (granted I'm not sure I know what a sex shop sells that would be different from an adult bookstore) . . . but are supportive of prostitution?
