Not even remotely surprised.

Most "anti" politicians just take that as a default stance because, historically, it's been the politically safer position. In this case, a republication politician, even more so has to pander to his generally older, more conservative and anti-drug constituency.

Hypocritical? Yes...but we're talking about politicians here...

I'm fairly sure the article is wrong, 65 is max speed in New York State unless something changed very recently.
