Is there any way to prevent a keylogger prog that was already installed on a comp from getting my keystrokes?

I want to put all my passwords on a USB stick using CryptNote, but then I remembered about the threat of keyloggers.

also what if the computer I'm using has something installed that automatically takes screenshots and sends them somewhere?

If the keylogger is running successfully on the computer, I don't think there's any way to "keep" it from recording your keystrokes. I guess it's a case of "prevention is better than cure." Not letting the keylogger run in the first place with solid safeguards would be ideal. Once it gets going though, I think your best option would be to run all the anti-spyware/anti-virus apps you have and hope you can catch it.

Not without disabling the keyboard itself, or using one of those workarounds to fill in passwords without actually pressing keys.

I forget the details on those, but what comes to mind is using the mouse and Accesories > System > Character Map to mouse-click keys.

That won't protect you from screen cap programs though.

Like GreatBarracuda said, once you're infected the best way to to find and shut their process down. They have to be running to do the capturing/logging.
