Anti-gun Co. politicians recalled and booted out

Here's some more great news for us pro-gun folks. 2 of the piece of garbage Democrat politicians that voted for extremely tough gun laws in Colorado got recalled and booted out of office.

An epic national debate over gun rights in Colorado on Tuesday saw two Democratic state senators ousted for their support for stricter laws, a "ready, aim, fired" message intended to stop other politicians for pushing for firearms restrictions. Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron will be replaced in office with Republican candidates who petitioned onto the recall ballot.

"Coloradans ... sent a clear message that politicians who blatantly ignore their constituents will be held accountable," said Dustin Zvonek, state director of Americans for Prosperity. "Perhaps this will serve as a lesson that one-party rule in Denver doesn't give the majority license to take things to extremes or run roughshod over the values and rights of Coloradans who just happen, for the moment, to be in the minority."

"Tonight is a victory for the people of the state of Colorado, who have been subject to the overreach of a Democrat agenda on guns, taxes and accountability to the people," said Tim Knight, Founder of the Basic Freedom Defense Fund and the "father" of the recalls. "Since day one, they said it couldn't be done. Tonight, this is a victory for the people of Colorado, and we share this victory with them."

And somewhere in the middle of the night in California... a boner pill was popped about an hour went by... and a ferocious fapp session ensued!

WTG old man!

Good to see some of the ignorant scumbags booted out of office. We need a lot more of that if this country is going to get back on track. Sadly that's not likely to happen anytime soon.

Not much of a recall. Morse was term-limited so he was on his way out already and Giron is up for re-election; so may not be out very long. That and Dems still control the House and Senate even after this.

But hey got more outside state Koch and other groups money in CO. Think of all the jobs. 😉

The total funds spent by each side was very lopsided. The pro-recall people had about $500K and the anti-recall had $3M+. Both had outside-the-state money, but it was the antis that had the vast majority with Doomberg even tossing in $350K of his own.

Actually that’s not correct. A lot of the pro-recall money was funneled through "nonprofit" groups that do not have to report its spending to the Federal Elections Commission.

There was millions spent by BOTH sides. In the end the big winner is CO that got millions in money to kick out a lame duck and another one that is already up for re-election.

IT was the message being sent that such attitudes are not going to be tolerated.
The fact that it was also the Senate President shows the lack of support drummed up by the membership.

I've noticed that gun owners are a very loud population. If 50% of a population is "for" gun control and 50% is against it you can bet your ass that 50% against will be much louder, with more signs, more involvement etc. This is why pushing gun control is so hard, even if the majority supports it.

Good. The entire concept of gun control is stupid, like the war on drugs.

It's sad how Democrats have to continually rely on their catch phrases to hold on to their beliefs:

"It was voter suppression"

"It was the Koch brothers"

When the simple reality is that genuinely not everyone wants to live by the progressive ideals, or doesn't believe the progressive utopia is obtainable (it causes more problems than it solves).

This. You can do all of the opinion polling that you want, but even if 90% of the people support something, they have to be willing to go out and vote for it.

Buh buh buh "will of the majority" hurrrr.

Good points made by Cooke in this article.

The national implications of this are significant. When Bill Clinton signed the 1994 “assault weapons” ban, he didn’t just lose the House, he also lost the argument for 20 years. Colorado was supposed to be the blueprint for other “purple” states. If gun control could be done here, then why not in Pennsylvania, or Nevada — or even Texas? Now, it will presumably be difficult to convince state legislatures in other parts of the country to touch the question of guns. Privately, defenders of Morse have shared with me that, while they wanted their man to win, they wish he hadn’t put the Democratic party in this position. This is wise. Gun control rarely works out well for the party.

Good news! These pieces of shit should never have been in office. People need to respect the 2nd Amendment and stop these idiotic gun control measures. This is definitely a win for the people.

LOL at the piece of shit bloomberg who funneled money to those cronies. This is a big screw you to all the gun control advocates. They got owned!

If representatives toe the White House line rather than represent the will of their constituents, they deserve to be thrown out. This recall was a good thing.

The majority does not support it.
And you must be very young, cuz for the longest time the anti-gun crowd was considerably louder, even though they've always been the minority.
Its only in the 2nd Obama term that gun supporters have become slightly louder.

Hmmm. Poll after poll after poll after poll after poll would say you're wrong that the majority doesn't support gun control. They don't all support the same thing, but certain gun control measures have overwhelming support of the populace. Most just feel particularly strongly about it. The you have gun nuts whom I also like to call "Second Amendment Revisionists" who are rabidly against any form of gun control. They are actually a loud but relatively small minority. Even most gun owners are pro some form of gun control.
