I have this psu and currently its in my Super Lanboy case. I had problems with the fan grilles... I had to remove one of the fan grill screws in the back in order for the psu to be flush with hte backplate.

Does anybody know if I can just remove the 92mm internal fan grill without causing problems? Right now its severely bending my Fan clip for my thermalright SLK 947U. I guess im asking if the 92mm fan is connected to the PSU in an additional way such that if i remove the fan grill, it wont go bouncing around the psu...

Generally the 4 screws that go into the fan from the back are the mounting screws. Generally they will be flush with the case if you don't use the grille. If you have some other kind of screw, then get some standard fan screws. SVC.com has em if no one offers you some. I don't have any spares or I'd send you some.

Is my fear of the losing the 92mm fan into the psu as I unscrew the last screw (as to remove the fan grill) unfounded?

pretty much considering even if it does fall over, the fan grill will now be out of the way and you can just grab it carefully.

Unscrew 3 of the grill screws. Loosen the last one by a single turn. Move the grill over so that you can put back in one of the screws without the grill. Now take out the 4th screw. Screw back in the remaining screws. Hope this helps!

I have the same PS and it rocks! I removed the gold and replaced with black. That gold looks to ..tacke (spelling mailfunction).
