I was wondering if anybody knows how the "fan only" connectors work. Does power always reach a fan, or does the PSU decide when to power the fans? Also, if it does continuously power a fan, does it control the voltage - if so, what is the temperature gradient which the PSU responds to with varying voltage? I lost my PSU manual, and the online one didnt go into detail...

Thx!

Look.

It's temperature-dependent. When the PSU get's hot, it'll give a higher voltage to the Fan-connector, supposedly the same as it's own 92mm fan.

Thanks, i was being blind in my haste. Hopefully this will keep me from having to buy 7V modded wires

For anyone who is curious about how the Fan only connectors work:

"The fan only connectors will only provide 5v and and will increase the voltage when the temperature rises cause the fan to speed up. ..."
