get the Fortron 500W Blue Storm AX500. you will be absolutely delighted to have one.

as you may know, Fortron's PSUs are some of the most reliable and most accurate power supplies on the market, very conservatively rated and with the most accurate rails. they actually make their own. Sparkle is their brand as well

I second the Bluestorm. Good power, and cables come sleeved already.

WOOHOO! I managed to untangle all my cables, and everything is neat now. THANK GOD! I can save myself some money and trouble of replacing this thing now. I will post some pics in a few.

And you are right, it is the best money can buy (except for the PC P&C 850 😀)
The best is your opinion. 😛 Given the choice I'd take the Seasonic S600 over the PCP&C 510. In fact I opted for the OCZ 520w and it works fine in my rig.

I'm sure the fanboi's will chime in and mention the OCZ 520w PS failed Tom's torture test. I suppose all of the other indepent review sites, in addition to the thousands of enthusiasists that own the OCZ, must be ignorant and refuse to use 'the best'. After all Topower mfg's utter crap. 😛

Suit yourself. 😀

I think you can find any number of reviews and reviewers who would agree that PC P&C rules the roost in power supplies. Debating that is rather silly...

OCZ? LOL!

I wouldn't give you a penny for ANY of their products, let alone the power supply!

Pabster, maybe you could spend less time pimping your opinions and fix your sig. 🙂

It works fine for me 😛

I wish I could pimp my opinions, would be nice supplementary income LOL 😛

Okay well after all that bitching, I managed to get the power supply untangled without ripping the seal on the case to the power supply, so my warranty won't be voided. I got all the cables to come out neatly, and in a straight forward fashion like how it should be. I installed it into my system today and it came out pretty good. Not as good as my old Coolermaster since the cables are shorter, and aren't sleeved either. I decided to ditch the sleeving idea cause its too much work, and I really don't feel like doing it. It was enough work untangling all the wires, so I decided to leave the wires unsleeved.

Anyway here is a picture of how it looks installed in my system.
Antec P180 with TruePower-II 550W installed...

The 4 pin motherboard connector wasn't long enough to hide behind the motherboard. 🙁 That really is the only thing I wish I could change. Everything else is fine with me though. If only that cable was about 2" longer, I coulda got it under the motherboard.

Maybe the OLD 510 Deluxe did that but the new SLI models have been changed to optimize the fan speed for quieter operation.

That would be one looooooong cable then considering how long this one is to begin with.

It's not that long to me... My Coolermaster RP450 has some LONG cables. And I love it because its perfect for hiding cables, and completing excellent cable management.

If I had a full tower, the cables in this Antec would be even harder to manage since the case would be taller.

Woot! Good thing you didn't get the Seasonic S12 then, you'd be in a world of hurt.

BTW that is the best job of cabling I have seen in a P180 yet. Period.

What are those blue fans in the case? The Tricools that were in one of the first P180's off the boat I used were all black.

Yea I was already well aware of the Seasonic's short cable lengths. Thats the reason I didn't get it. And thanks for the compliments on my wire job. 🙂 The fans in my case are Coolermaster 120mm Silent UV fans. You can get them at www.SVC.com for $6 each.

Also you do realize that amps and watts are different. The Antec TP-II 550W has more amps on all rails than the Seasonic 600W. So if more watts = more amps, then obviously the Seasonic should have more amps that the Antec considering it has 50 more watts.

The problem is we do not know how they come up with these numbers.
Max. Load Antec | Seasonic
+3.3V = 32A | 30A
+5V = 40A | 30A
+12V1 = 19A | 18A
+12V2 = 19A | 18A
-12V = 1A | 0.8A
+5VSB = 2A | 2A

Antec TP-II 550W has power rated as:
Combined +5V, +3.3V, +12V1, 12V2 maximum output 530 Watts max

The Seasonic S12-600 has power rated as:
Combined continuous load of 600 watts
Combined +3.3V and +5V output of 180 watts
Combined +12V and 12V output of 432 watts

Notice Antec's rating is peak output power while Seasonic's rating is continuous output power. We do not know what Antec's continuous output power is. It is certainly a lot lower than 530 watts. For all we know Seasonic is just being conservative (or maybe more honest???) in their current ratings.

That is a fine cabling job, well done. That's my least favorite part of building a computer. I find it gets tedious quick trying to get the wires in the best place possible. I keep a fairly neat box, but nowhere near as nice as that one.

I know its a little late Dynamix, but it took me all of 10 minutes to exchange out the fan in my PCP&C. Put a low rpm ADDA 80mm and being in the bottem of my p180 w/ same CM fan you have it runs very cool. Best of both worlds IMO. Either way, fan exchange or untangle wires, you void the warranty after removing the cover. Props to your meticulous cable mngmnt 🙂

Told you Dynamix. It wasn't that hard to untangle now wasn't it? Cheers to fellow TP 2.0 550w owner

Actually it wasn't hard, it was just long and annoying. I wish I would not have had to do that. But I guess I should be happy since I saved so much money since I didn't send it back and get a PC P&C 510 SLI. That woulda broke my wallet.

Yea well I'm glad I got them detangled, cause spending $230 on a PC P&C woulda killed me. I was trying to save money. And the Antec was only $80 after rebate. So I can't beat that. The PC P&C might be a great PSU, but its wayyyyyy more than the Antec.

Question for you....

In your original setup you had the 4 pin ATX power connector running underneath your mobo, but with your new setup you have it running on top.......Is this because the original PSU was sleeved and this new one isn't? Is it safe to run ANY power cables sleeved or unsleeved under the motherboard? I gues I am worried about eith the wires scraping against the mobo and exposing wires and possibly shorting something out or maybe EMI?
