Is this case any good? Thinking of getting it (and using it for a few months and then tossing it... e.g., moving in a few months). $40 seems like a good rental case?

I'm sure the quality will be good, but the design is a bit dated unless Newegg is using old pics from 2008. No cable routing holes and drive bays oriented towards the back means mess of cables and larger video cards pressing up against your hard drives. May come with routing holes now, newegg never seems to update pics.

I've worked with the 300 a lot, and it's a terrific case for the money. It is very solidly built with thick sheet metal. Cable routing isn't really a problem thanks to the space behind the drive cage and indents in the motherboard tray. It's actually a lot better in this regard than the more expensive 900. As mentioned above, though, longer video cards could present a problem.

The 300 Illusion model also comes with 2 additional Tri-Cool fans and is often on sale for $45AR.

Have this case myself. The cse is probably the best you can find at it's price point. It doesn't have all the amenities of a higher end case like cable routing and such but the layout functions. Have ran xfire 4870s and currently a full sized 580 with no problems. Two hdds and a dvd drive. Solid airflow. Front case fans come with a cleanable filter. Exceptionally well built.

The side intake can take an aftermarket filter, too.

It's very easy (and cheap) to dust-proof this case.

Will it fit the GTX 670 EVGA Superclocked edition?

95% gave it 4 or 5 stars...and it is 40 bucks. Seems like a solid deal.

Dated configuration, hate the drive bays being old school front-to-back. I guess if it was still 2002, I'd be OK with it.

For $10 more shipped, you can get a nice Lian Li with a far nicer configuration.

Shame none of the sub-$50 cases have proper USB 3.0 Front side ports, but can't have everything.

I bought this back in 2008 with my build. Ran fine for 4 years without anything over heating. That was with a 4780x2, OC E8400 with CM Hyper 212, 4x 1tib Cav Black and 1x VR 300gig. Recently updated to an OC 3570k and 7870. Everything is below 40c under full load.

Anyways, I just bought another for my brother in laws build which is using all my older stuff from the first build. Awesome case for the price. Not a bad layout if you are going to install and not touch it anytime soon. It is a little cramped but I made do with still keeping good airflow.

This case has EXCELLENT cooling, if you load it up with fans. Keeps my quad-GPU rig cool, ~80C on each GPU doing PrimeGrid or F@H.

nzxt source 210, $40 and I've had the two next to eachother, the nzxt has build quality and looks of cases multiple times its price, where as the antec is probably well suited at $40

Unless you needed it right now for some reason, you probably should've waited til BF.

300s can usually be had for a song, then.
