** antec sx830 question **

I know about the purple fan mounts.. apparently there is supposed to be a place for a fan that blows directly onto the hard drives. but this may be just for the sx1030
 
Hehe...sorry, I thought you meant the regular fan mounts. As I am looking into into it right now, I see no other fan mounts in, around or near the HD cage. I even pulled the front bezel off and I see no mounting holes.

i have the sx830 and there are 2 fans blowing in on the bottom... it doesnt blow to the HD... just inside the case
 
Yup thats what I thought.. no big deal really.. necessity is the mother of invention 🙂
if its possible to put a fan there somehow I'll do it just cause its a project!

the hard part will be looking at it lie empty till I can get the DDR system to put in it :-(

I'll be glad to turn this box into my linux firewall/router since windows hates this board I have now! (MSI 5169) from 400 to a ghz ahhh.. I can't wait!

I have been thinking about this case also. I know there are a Lot of happy sx830 & sx1030 users.

But I also have thought about adding a fan in HD cage on the SX 830. on the following link look at the response from "AntecCSR" arstechnica Forum If you look at the sx830 case in some of the pics closely it looks to be well vented in front of the HD cage. I dont know why you couldn't add the fan cage to the HD cage. you could then have 3 80 mm intakes, and 2 80 mm exhaust. 😎
