The combined rating is, i belive, like the actual power which can be derived from the +3.3 and +5V lines....its something AMD like to deal with in their ratings of a PSU though, and higher is needless to say better....the Antec has a very high combined rating amongst its class on the list from what i see. Nice review BTW...oh, and im only 19 :)

And damn, i need to go to sleep already, its 3:45am here in good ol GB, LOL...Mem will no doubt reply at a more reasonable time in the morning though :p

night(morning) all.

Maverick2002,
yes the Antec 400w is good PSU,btw I just received my Chieftec version of the SX1240 in black with door,it`s awesome.

I`m going to use it for my next second PC I`m going to build,I`ve fitted 4x 80mm Evercool fans and Sunon 92mmm at top,as for PSU well I`ve the choice now of Antec or Enermax or any other make I care to choose, btw the door comes off as well, anyone know what that very big washer type ring is for that comes with all the screws?

:)

I have an Antec 830 and a 1030 ,The horizontal supports are an excellent place to thread wiring for fans.
Just a couple of wrap ties and a little planning and it works beautifully.
makes upgrading less of a chore and promotes excellent airflow.

It's certainly a big un! I don't think you hear much about it because the SX1030/1040 830/840 is a much more manageable size.

I personally can't wait until someone gets the SX630. I've been eyeing that one now for a great mid tower.

Maverick2002,you`re sure that Antec 400w is supposed to lean like that?.. I know it`s heavy but I`ve just fitted my Enermax 430w PSU and it`s nice and straight in my Chieftec(Full tower version simliar to Antec SX1030B).

The only bad thing I can say about the 1240Sx is the way the power supply is mounted, It sags a bit but I dont thing it will hurt it. Anyone know why they didnt rest it on the support rails?

Mem: I spoke with some people at Antec and it seems like it was something that happened during shipping, it was shaken a bit much and the rear bezel bent a bit. I fixed this with a pair of pliers in 10 seconds, so it's not really a problem. I too don't understand why they didn't make the PSU rest on the rails, but nothing is perfect I guess :).

Sweet case! I love mine and have modded it out.

first off I cut out the middle plate, used a dremel to cut it after the support for the 5 1/4 drive bays and drilled out the rivets.

took bottom drive cage out of the bottom and used the extra drive bays to put my hard drives in removable bays.

left the top drive bay in and taped up the holes for better airflow, blows right on the processor that way.

drilled out the bottom 80mm fan on front and made in to a 120mm, bought a pvc grommett, and angled the 120 at a 30degree angle to blow straight up on processor.

my airflow is greatly improved and i have plenty of room for future upgrades, i.e. watercooling.

my temps range around 35C for processor and 22C for case.

running a classic 800 athlon at 1.0gig on an abit ka7

just my 2 cents but a great case, picked up mine awhile back from Onvia for 150.00 free shipping.
