Antec SX1030B $104.94 shipped from egghead

Its quite nice, I have one now, but be warned it isn't exactly a true dark black, but more like a really really dark grey. 🙂

this case is excellent. There's space for up to 4 case fans so that keeps
the case well ventilated. And not a sharp edge in sight. Highly recommended.

Goul - it is heavy, but you could always put handles on it. Let's face it, for a lan box you'll probably want an aluminum case like the Lian-Li boxes from directron.

damacles - Check out the antec site for pics and specs and links to reviews on it. It's best feature, besides lots of room, nice burr-free metal, and the case fan boxes, are the silky-smooth internal drive bays - every other drive bay I've tried is a herky-jerky arrangement.

I currently own this case and it is awesome! case. My only complaint is the cover for the drives is kind of annoying. If you want a case without the annoying cover I would recommend the antec sx830

According to AMDs website, the 300W Antec PS is only good for up to 800MHz Tbirds. They suggest the 400W PS for anything faster. There's an SX840 and SX1040 model with the 400W PS, but I haven't found a great deal on one of those yet.

Can anyone give me the temperature of their case with all 4 fans going? Like how many degrees above room temperature it is. Hoping this will help out my overclocking exploits and make my system a bit more stable. Thanks.

I am looking into getting this case. i found the Enermax FS-710BB on maxcooler.com(which for those of you that don't know is the same case as the Antec SX1030, only it's blue) They have it for 105.00 plus shipping, which i haven't figured yet. It comes with 4 case fans, but no PS, for an extra 64.00 you can get an Enermax 350watt PS, but it's a cool blue color. I don't like the broing beige and I'm not sure how i will like the charcoal gray of the 1030B. My question is, if I get the 1030B will I be able to paint over the dark paint already on there?

taller case than normal, but I love mine. Good for overclockers. If you're always playing inside of your computer, you'll love this case too.

biggest downside is the price.

<< Will it doo as a Lan Box?
I've heard its a little heavy...

It weighs almost 30 lbs.

I cart it and a mini tower dell server to lans. Pain in ass but it works.

I HIGHLY recoment this case. I got this one, tho they do make a JET black one (this is the charcol grey one).

You can mod front and back to take 2 92's each with little work, I will take pics sometime. I get VERY nice air movement. HD's on removable drive cages is sweet.

True, they DO have a jet black one.. but the only reason I didn't buy into that was because it wasn't a true Antec.. I forget what brand it was, but it was an Antec wanna-be. Similar setup, but it would've cost me more to buy it so I wanted the real thing. By the way, I believe the setup inside is a little different.. can't recall exactly, but it had to do with fan slots? or.. bah.. can't remember.. but I would pay less and go for the real thing.

I'm both stupid and crazy enough to spray paint my 5.5 devices' faces black to match 😀
but.. maybe later.

EDIT:By the way, the same company who makes the jet black wanna-be Antecs also make the same case in Blue.. kinda fruity if you ask me, but on second look, it actually looks ok.

they are all made by Chenming, so they would all be pretenders...technically speaking...of course.
