Outpost has the Antec SX-830 case on sale for $69.95 with a $20 rebate, bringing the total down to $49.95, before shipping(and Tax in some states). Shipping to CT is $13.56.

Great deal, but how does the rebate work? Outpost shows a rebate, but doesn't give details... Also, I have one of these cases. Being a server case it's a little noisy, but otherwise an excellent case.

EDIT: The server case comment just means that I'm guessing there is a little more ventilation area open in the front of the case that lets air flow through at the expense of a little less sound dampening. Antec does call this a server case, right?

Being a server case its a little noisy? how?

I have the sx1030b, the one with more drive bays, but same size etc... If you're talking about the fans it comes with you can replace them with queiter ones. The power supply I got with my case isn't the standard one, so I dont know about noise from the p/s. Other than that, my case, paired with 4 silent fans, and a silent, 2 fan powersupply is relatively quiet, just a slight hum from the cpu fan.

This case is awesome. I've had mine for 2 years and it makes upgrades easy- roomy and NO sharp edges. The case is not noisy. It's what you put in it that's noisy. I have 6 fans in mine and it used to sound like it was preparing for take off when I booted it up. I replaced the fans with Panaflow's and it is super quiet. This case also runs very cool compared to other cases I and friends have had. I lost only 1 degree case / mb temp when I replaced the screaming fans with Panaflow's. This is a great deal on this case BTW. 😎

This is a great deal, I've used this case for almost all the systems I've built, including my own.

But like Goss said, where is the rebate form? I can't find it at Outpost or Antec.

I have 5 of these sitting next to me running seti, keep your eyes open for 30db or less fans, load up 4 of those per machine and they get real quiet.

watch out for shipping costs. they ship from ohio, and if you're far from there, like in california, it can hit you for close to $30. luckily the local socal fry's finally dropped their price a month ago to keep up with outpost when it was going for $79. guess they dropped another $10. if fry's follows again and goes to $69, I'll get another case. very nice and roomy. just need to get some panaflows to replace the stock fans.

I'm still using the stock fans, so it "sounds" like I need to upgrade to some Panaflos (and a quieter cpu fan). Thanks for the advice. This case has great air flow with two case fans in the rear.

Again, great case- I ordered another one today. Still can't find the rebate information, though.

Just as an update as to questions about the rebate form. I just received an email ad from outpost with this deal listed as part of their St. Patrick's Day sale so I am guessing the deal actually begins tomorrow.

still waiting on my rebate for this case (bought it from BB) 😀 I LOVE this case! FRIGGIN' SOLID if U ask me! 😀

<< I e-mailed Outpost and they e-mailed me back the rebate form. >>

Email me the rebate form and I'll host it.

<< anybody got the case? >>

i've got 2 of them. they are sweet. tons of room. two removable drive holders that make installing hard drives so easy...just screw the drive into the metal case and slide it into the case. the external drive bays use screw in drive rails that also work really well. comes with two fans and is ready for 2 more. not many (if any) cases on the market are better then this one.

I love my 830 also, but don't like the fan buzz. Alas... I think I paid $99 around C'mas before I built up my latest system with it, and thought I was getting it at a decent local price. I am using the stock 300w Antec PS and the two 80mm Antec fans that come in the box. Had an older 80mm installed as the second exhaust but it started buzzing and I tossed it. What do you like for quiet fans? Do other people have favorites before I go off buying half-prepared? What's a good supplier site?

I just got a Chieftec DX-01W, which is almost exactly the same as the Antec. The Antec has only 1 hdd cage, the Chieftec has 2. I have between 3-4 hdd's installed so I got the Chieftec. The Antec power supplies have not been very quiet, there are new quieter models out but I doubt the case at Outpost has one of those. Most people get rid of the Antec 80mm fans real fast because they are noisy. Other than that this is a real sweet deal and the best case made.

If you need room for more than 3 hard drives you can get a Chieftec DX-01W at Newegg for $65 + $15 shipping.

I just sound insulated my case, here are some pics.
