What is it about this case that makes so many people love it. I'm looking for a case for my first build and wanted to know if I should consider buying this case.
 
it weighs as much loaded down with all my parts as my old case does empty. 😉 plus 2x120mm fans is much quieter than 5x80mm. however, 40 bucks is a steal. i got mine for 70 used (altho in perfect condition).
 
Fry's Electronics... a week ago, was $70 - $30 MIR... it currently sits, wrapped under my Christmas tree along with my Samsung 710N.

That pretty much says it all as far as I'm concerned... I won't use 'lightweight aluminum' cases. I want strong, stable, cases that will outlast all the components installed in them. I got that in spades with the Lian-Li case I'm using.. Yes, it's ~3x what some are posting as the price of the antec case. BUT, I consider it to be easily worth 10x the Antec cases (any made).

it's plenty strong once everything is in it, and as much as i move it around i want light. if i wasn't going to move my case at all this year i'd stick with the chieftec dragon i had before.

It is light but definitly well made and with just a little care (ie, not kicking it or dropping it off a cliff) it will outlast the many setups I put through it. The airflow is AWESOME, much better than most of the Lian-Li cases, though this does result in more noise as the front grill is open. The standard fans it comes with are a little low CFM for my super-heat producing setup, but for most they will be fine.

I LOVE this case!

When I first saw the case, thought it was ugly.

After a while, thought it was okay. Decided I liked the airflow design.

Directron had it ½ year ago for $10 off, plus I used a coupon for another $5 off so I bought it.

Soon as I received it, took off the translucent blue plastic "waffle" grill covering the front fan and installed a wire finger guard. Looks much, much better now. 😀 Someday I'll remove the drive bay door - right now I'm afraid of breaking the tabs. Though the case is really lightweight it is fairly sturdy. I have some other cheap aluminum cases that felt flimsy but the Super LAN Boy feels really rigid and sturdy. Even with default fans, plenty of airflow for my overclocked P4. It also is really compact for a regular ATX case, though some people find it cramped to work in.
 
Ive modded mine so much that it doesnt look like much of a superlanboy.
I removed the front blue grille, the metal stamped grilles, the retarded drivebay door, and the HDD Bays.

Very good airflow now!
 
Just look at all the neat features it offers, some may think it frivilous, but imo they all make one cool case - and attention to detail is magnificent. Example - the rear case fan is mounted using silicon pull tab thingies to eliminate any vibration between the fan & case.

And for those that say fimsy...what are you doing to your case?? Dropping it off your desktop or do you want it to survive a nuclear attack?
 
$40 is a good price
i saw some antec cases on clearance at bestbuy for $49 - $79... with power supplies
all gone now
the next week, boss blew his machine out and i had to buy a codegen case for $43
cut my hand too
 
Anyone know where you can get replacement rubber tabs for the back fan? I replace the fan with a panaflo and had to break the tabs and screw the fan in with regular metal screws.
