Man, I'm pissed at Antec. I bought an Antec true power trio, and the thing never worked 100% right. Sometimes no fan, sometimes it wouldn't respond to the power button. Eventually the thing died completely and it went in for RMA. They sent a brand new tru power trio (The new series) as a replacement and I was stoked to get a brand new unit rather than a repair. However I had got a new one in the interim (It took over a month to get the RMA) So the PS sat on the shelf until last night when I put it in a new rig I was building. That PS lasted a grand total of 15 minutes before It wouldn't power up anymore. No response to bridging green and black on the 24 pin connector. Bah. 2/2 crappy supplies and I thought Antec was supposed to be a premium PS vendor. Safe to say I'll never be buying their power supplies again.

Strange, I've put about 500 Antec PSUs in various builds over the years and have had nine go bad. You either have shit for luck, or...you're doing it wrong.

Yah. I assume its just bad luck, but it doesn't make me any less annoyed. Oddly, all the cheapo PS I'd had over the years- zero problems. I spring for a nice one, and bam. Oh well.

The NEO ECO and TruePower New series are very solid. Bad "luck", I guess.
+1

...while i'm not as enthusiastic about the TruePower series (i got away from that line some time ago after experiencing consecutive cases of "back luck" myself) and have gone with SeaSonic built units ever since, i can certainly vouch for the NEO ECO series...or at the very least, the NEO ECO 620C, which i have in one of my rigs, and is rock solid. its the best Antec PSU i've had in a long time.

The NEO ECO 620C is actually a rebranded Seasonic S12II 620 with a bit lower efficiency. That's why so many people have said it's so solid.

Hint: True Power Trio and True Power New are made by SeaSonic.

Bad luck or not, we want to make this right. Send me an email at VIP@Antec.com with your RMA number and we'll get this sorted straight away.

Wow, sorry about the bad luck! I've usually used Antecs in my personal builds and for those with more than bottom-level budgets, and have seen a grand total of 1 failure out of ~200 or so during the past 5-6 years, and that was one that was probably overworked (430W with overclocked/overvolted PhII, GTX465, and tons of hdds/fans).

Wow, props to Antec. Glad to see that.

I've personally never had issues with the PSU's made by SeaSonic. In fact I seek those out. Seasonic are some of the best PSU's out there

Ive had good luck with Antec (based on half dozen unit sample). However, there was criticism that many newer units did not hold up as well as older models.

Wow. Interesting thread. I quite like Antec products (as evidenced by my sig) and seeing the post here just made me like the company even more. Great work, Jessie. Please keep it up.

I too think Lady Luck probably just thinks you suck (she's a bitch tho right?)

I've used Antecs at home, and in builds I've put together for friends, family, and customers. No idea how many but it's probably well into the triple digits - of that number I've had exactly 3 fail me.
I know of an old 350W Antec that has been running for almost 10 years now (not continuously though, obviously)

Antec units have been pretty good to me. But then I've only had a few units die over the years and only one of them a antec (get replaced before they die normally).

The one that "died" was about 3 years old (one of the server grade ones at the time) IIRC and the 3.3V rail dropped to 2.7V or so. Not sure if the cpu/MB killed the power supply or the power supply killed the cpu/MB, but nothing got that system going again.

Only issue I have had with Antec was the rebate on my TP 650. Didn't get any response when trying to find out if I was getting it. I did get it, but some communication would of been good.

We've heard this feedback and are working to improve it. Unlike many companies, we do handle 100% of our rebates in-house, so there's no middle man. And if you send us an email to rebates@antec.com, one of our rebate people will respond within 24 hours. Automation is something we're working on incorporating right now - making it so you have a portal to view your rebates and see their status.
