I just bought a brand-new Antec NEO HE 500 watt for my AMD 64 3800, 1gb ddr 500, 2x 6800 gt oced @ Ultra SLI, A8N-SLI, and a simple 200gb HD along with 1 dvd-rom drive and 1 80mm fan.

10 minutes after gunning and killing in FEAR my computer shuts off, all fans quiet, moniter turns black, I hate my life again..... Try to turn it on another 10~15 minutes of shooting and shuts off again...... wtf.....
All the voltage rails are fine, and I have the PSU connected directly into a wall outlet.

My question is HOW THE HELL CAN ANTEC PUT THAT LYING PIECE OF SH1T STICKER THAT SAYS SUPPORT FOR DUEL GRAPHICS SETUP IN FRONT OF THE RETAIL BOX AND ON TOP OF IT.

God, what must I do for SLI, I've already tried Antec Truecontrol 2.0 550watt and that gives me an NVIDIA's error messege of INSUFFICIENT POWER, and the 120mm Fan died for no reason, then I tried best single rail instead of double rail, the SPARKLE FSP550-60PLG 550W and I still got the damn error messege of INSUFFICIENT POWER, at a desperate attempt I drive to my local best buy store and got the ANTEC NEO HE 500, and got back home in less than 20 minutes! Only to find it shutting off for no reason. Still dead in the water sigh...... BTW I don't have temperature problems at all, cause I put my computer next to the windows for cooling!!!!!! Some 1 please help.....

Have you tried all of the parts individually? Try one card, then the other. try one stick of ram, then the other. Make sure it's not some other component.

here is nothing wrong with the ram, I tried each Cards by them self for 40 minutes playing Halo, there shouldn't be any problem except the PSU. I'm 100% sure iz IT

1) your computer shutting off is not automagically the PSU's fault. If you put a PC P&C in there and it happens again, you'll issue a retraction, right? ;)

2) ensure that the PCI-Express power cables both have the PCIe-labelled end plugged into the video card, and not the other way around, because guess what... it matters which way on a NeoHE, as the manual says.

3) Sounds like you got a DFI. Just in case you didn't already do this, note that there are no less than FOUR power receptacles on your mobo, located as indicated in red. Sometimes people don't notice that crafty little floppy-style one.

4) an overheated CPU can cause a shutdown, and no I don't care what the software said the CPU temperature was  Check your CPU-to-heatsink interface. Details on your heatsink and thermal-interface material might be helpful here.

also a note to those who have had PCPC PSu`s and had noise issues....
I talked with a tech and he said they are using a different fan now and after approx 45 minutes after you hook it up for the first time...things will get much quiter than with previous models!:)

We'll see about the PSU issue once I got another so call SLI certified PSU from the egg

I connected all the cables before I put it into the computer, and yes I do have both PCI-E connected correctly, I don't do these things wrong at all.

If you are referring to my A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo's little 4-slot molex plug that has a red light dot that below it, well guess what I have the Antec NEO HE PSU connected directly to it, and the red light never turns on at all, meaning this ISN NOT a MOBO/Ram/CPU problem because I was playing fine with 2x 6800nus before the GT on my old PSU.

LoL this is definetly not my CPU problem because I never let it go above 62c at all. And as I said be 4 this is not a CPU problem because my computer never shutdown before until I put in the two GT to replace the NUs and the NEO HE Psu to replace the POW 600w cheap generics...

1) your CPU is hitting 62C?! :Q My X2 3800+ never goes over 42C under all-out loads. Hmmm. Aim a house fan into the side of the case and play some more FEAR and see if the additional cooling settles it :)

2) I see now that the Ultra SLI refers to your GPUs being OC'ed, not the DFI mobo of that model name. What happens if you clock the GPUs normally?

Not every 1 can afford water cooling + vapo chill and not every 1 lives in Antartica

It'll crash even if I set it to 370/1000 which is the default settings for GT OC.

aye, head over to hard forums and read the thread on the neo he and the asus having compatability issues.

the antec rep is on it but it appears the asus boards are reading the voltages way low and shutting down even though a dmm on the rails shows them within spec.

here. although i see you already started an "antec sux" thread there as well. with 1337 words like "iz" even

Dude, you need to Chill and not think everything here is an attack on you. You asked for help and people here are making suggestions. 62C is WAY out of line for even an X2, that 42C of his is probably on a stock cooler or an XP90, not water/vapo, so get your crap strait before you start being an asshat.

hope it works out.

you're going SLI, but then trying to save money on the power supply? Doesn't make any sense to me.

Get the pc p&c 510 sli and never worry about power again(well, until they change the connector types and you end up with an incompatable motherboard, somewhere in the distant future).

I'm using air cooling, not stock but approximately equivalent to it. If I'm getting 42C with 4000MHz of X2 at full load, and you're getting a far higher temperature with about half the MHz, then you should do the house-fan test. If temps drop dramatically, you need better case ventilation to get the heat of the 6800@Ultras away from the CPU. If temps don't drop dramatically, then you need to figure out why your CPU is running 20C too hot.

Also, update your Asus's BIOS if you haven't done so. I see in Asus's BIOS notes that the AI Booster can set incorrect core voltages and that this is addressed with the newest BIOSes.

btw I don't full-load at 62c, it full-loads at around 49c. at 1.55v and 2.5ghz

I have a venus 12, it works good for moderate moderate ocing for my cpu and I have a huge 200mm fan from blowing at the 2 gts they fullload at 75c when oced to 410/1100.

Apparently, Antec is having huge issues with the NeoHE line of PSUs.
That's why I went for a Vantec Ion + OCZ Modstream instead :D
