Antec Sonata front 120mm fan recs

I just put in a Thermaltake 120mm fan into the front of my Sonata and as other people said, it's not really in the front but behind the the HDD rack. It keeps my HDDs a lot cooler as before they were very hot to the touch and they're pretty cool. It's hooked up to the 7V fan only lead and I can't tell I added it in.

are you running them on the fan only line or full power?

im on fan only line and my temps are
45C CPU

Both my intake and exhaust fans are on the fan only line (I thought I mentioned that when I said '7V fan only lead'). My CPU temps are high because I'm using a silent CPU HSF and O/C'd with voltage bumped a bit.

Actually the "fan only" leads on Antec PSUs are at 4.7-5V normally. They ramp (very slowly) up to about 10.5V max.

I had put an intake fan in, but when I had to pull it out while fixing a system problem, I didn't replace it and was surprised to find it was running COOLER without it. I just have the stock exhaust fan on a 12V connector and the PSU and the CPU idles ~3-5C above case temp. Quieter too.

I must say, that sounds like an interesting situation. Did you have your front fan backwords?

You also may want to check that the intake screen is clear of dirt,etc.

I use a 120 mm Panaflo for the front fan. It's actually a 24v high output fan but at 12v it's pretty quiet and on the fan only connector it's very quiet but still starts fine and moves a good amount of air.
