Antec Sonata and Zalman CNPS7700 ?

ok - so first off, i got my Sonata yesterday for $59 🙂 woohoo!

now, i'm looking at cooling my Socket-T P4 3.4 on an Intel 915MB - unfortunately i don't have the stock cooling fan/heatsink - so i'm looking at the latest badboy the CNPS7700 from Zalman!

does anyone have this setup in a Sonata case? i'm concerned about noise and fitup...

Only answer I have is that there has to be a clearance of 2.68" radius from the center of the CPU outward concerning case requirements & check with Zalman's MB compatibility list if you haven't done so.

Amazon btw has the CNPS7700 (in your link) for $34 shipped FWIW.
 
wow - great deal at Amazon for that! I picked mine up for $34 (plus an all copper one for my buddy for $44) with $5 shipping and no tax...

i'll post here if the 7700 fits 🙂
 
on zalman's site, there is a diagram of the required clearance. on my sonata, the 7700 heatsink will not fit, but that's with a socket 478 motherboard. your cpu might be positioned at a different location than mine is.
 
well bummer - the company i was ordering from cancelled my order, said that the manufacturer discontinued the model (YAH RIGHT - they probably didn't have any in stock)

oh well, since i'm thinking it won't fit what's the next best cooler? 🙂
