Antec Sonata $89.99 at Fry's/Outpost

2x80mm fans now (optional)... did something change? the one i purchased 3 months ago came with 1x120mm fan, and the instake fan was optional at 1x120mm. QUIET QUIET QUIET, but it sucks at cooling anything.

I'm guessing that's a typo. Pretty sure the Sonata has always had capacity for 2x120mm fans.

There are two different version of this case, one being more glossier, the expensive one that is. This one is on the budget side of the other model. www.antec.com to find more out.

WRONG....try again

They just screwed up the specs. It does come with one 120mm fan, and has a mount for a second one on the drive bay. The Sonata II is coming out and has a bulbous lower front bezel to accomodate a fan in lieu of the one mounted on the drive bay.

Excellent case if you're looking for a quiet setup. After having a noisy case for years, the near-silence of my Sonata was almost eerie for a while.

I improved the cooling on my Sonata by opening up the air intake area. I cut out the sides of the lower bezel protrusion and increased the size of the lower bezel opening as well. Works great 🙂 Temps are slightly lower and the openings don't let too much noise out.

This is in no way a hot deal.

Its been 59.99 AR a few times @ outpost.

This case rocks. I recently purchased one for more $ at Newegg. So for right now this is a good deal.

Get the 3700BQE over the sonata, check the reviews online, I've read more favorable reviews on them over Sonatas. I wish the Circuit City deal was at my B&M when I went, I wanted to replace my 2650BQE, I like it, nice and quiet just want better HD cooling space.

I had the Sonata, it was pretty good. It's a so-so deal if you need a case/PSU as one purchase (Fry's used to run them every few months at $59.99). I now use an Antec 3000b, which is an improved design and looks about identical to the Sonata. The 3000b cooling is much improved over the Sonata, and a quiet 120mm rear fan is included. It can be bought at Amazon for $43 shipped. You can then take the $50 difference from the Sonata and buy an upgraded PSU. Personally, I like the 3000b better than the Sonata, and I got in on the NeoPower 480 for $57 AR/AT from Fry's last week. $100 for a premium PSU and case! Couldn't be happier...

I got mine from fry's a couple of month ago for $60AR. But it had the older model PSU (with 18A on 12V rail, which means it will not be sufficient for SLI setups). Overall a very nice case, although I wouldn't call it high end - it's not aluminum, no slide out tray, no intake fan, and stupid holes on the side of the case let out some noise. Cooler Master is way better but much more expensive.
