Antec PSU's...SmartPower 2 500watt, modular, $52 shipped

Got the SP2 from Outpost for about that price after rebate like 2 months ago. Nice PS, almost silent, and modular cables are great

Thanks. This sounds good to me:

"Given the straight-through airflow design of this PSU, it is probably a good candidate for use in an Antec P180 case, where the thermal isolation of the PSU would ensure lower temperature at the intake, and thus keep the PSU running at idle-quiet levels even at high load. No other fan would be needed in the bottom chamber of the P180. However, extension cables would be needed for the 2x12V and main ATX connectors to use this PSU in a P180."

Exactly the setup I've got. I put the SP2 in my P180, and took out the lower chamber fan from the case. I didn't have much of a problem with the length of the cables as he says though, the 12v was tight, but it did make it, and the ATX connection made it without a problem.

I have been needing to buy a PSU for my not yet purchased new computer. Ive been debating over the true power or smart power. The price made me buy it. Good lookin out. I hope this PSU is fine for 2 hds, 6800GT and 3500+ venice.

Does anyone know whether this has a 24 Pin or 20 Pin Power connector? I am getting ready to build a A64 rig.

-Thanks, Ken

It has a 24 pin connector that you can detach the extra 4 pins from to get a 20 pin connector, if needed. I used this PSU for a recent build for a friend.

Where do you get the 10% coupon?

Awesome! I've been thinking of replacing the superflower psu in the computer I just recently built (not as happy with actual voltages I'm getting as I'd hoped I would be), and an Antec would be a welcome addition to that build. Thanks! 🙂

these are good deals, but not great. don't mean to thread crap, but a savings of ~$10 over a regular price isn't really "hot" in my opinion. i only say this cause i got all excitied about the price(s) until i did a little price searching.

thanks OP for the post. Antec's are some of the best power supplies, so any deal is hot in that respect.

So no need for any kind of adapter? You can just remove the extra 4 pins? If thats the case... I better cancel my order from Newegg for a Thermaltake Silent PurePower 420 for $40 shipped

Doh I am in for 2 of the 500 watt jobs. Thanks O.P. , I have to stop reading this forumn all thiese saving are making me broke ass. But my Antec 380 watt whines sometimes have to RMA it and I think I need more juice for my x800 xl. And with my new x800xtpe I just got for $221 shipped (yahoo) me thinks it will like some more power Scotty. The 350 seems to be giving it all she got, but more is always better.
