Antec PLUS1080AMG Fans

Which fans would you recommend for this case, how many, brand? etc.. 80mm
planning on OC'ing so I want to move air with it being pretty quiet.

Might as well put one fan in each place there is a holder for them, so 5. The case holds 80mmX25mm fans stock, but you may want to cut out the surrounding grills, enlarge the holes and then add 92x25mm fans. This would allow you to use quieter fans with more airflow.

I reccomend that you get a Rheobus and hook the fans to it. I would go with either 5 80mm Panaflo H1As or 5 Panaflo L1As. The H1As are louder, but on a Rheobus they will allow you to adjust between silent and a lot of airflow (39CFM Max). The Panaflos are only 24CFM max. As for a Rheobus, the Sunbeam at SVC is what I am buying here shortly and a lot of people like.

The Antec fans that come with the case can be used if you want to save money, but I would just go ahead and buy 5 matching fans.

if you are too lazy to mod like me but want quiet operating fans, then I suggest getting 5 NMB fans from svc, they are having a sale , 5 for 11 bucks I think. These are NICE fans, I was pleasantly surprised. You can also get a couple zalman multi connectors (cheap too) and run them at 5v. I am doing that now with 4of them and I can't hear them at all.

This is a good cheap alternative and what I did at first as well. Unfortunately, you may quickly find that they are not the most powerful and in my case the loudest component in my case. Also, when I tried running one of my NMBs at 5V it refused to ever start again even at 12V. None of the others would start at 5V. If you are going to overclock heavily you may want more than the NMBs.

CompUSA stores sells the 80 or 92mm Antec fans. The 80mm is $15.99 and the 92mm is $16.99. Both of the fans are thermal controlled.

yeah the nmb fans when run at 5v on a rheobus or some other kind of fan speed controller where you can control the speed on the fly seems to make them not want to work at 12v anymore. Using that zalman multi-connector doesnt seem to do that to the NMB fans because I have run them at 12v again with no problem. Ended up being too loud, so I put them back to 5v. H aving 4 of them going all at once seems to move enough air in a well arranged case like mine. 🙂

Good for what price? I wouldn't say it is the best for the $159+ I have seen it some places. In the hot deals forum people were getting it for under $100 a while back, I would say that is great. Antec makes sturdy, quality products and both the case and PSU are excellent when neglecting the price.
