1) I don't like the rail(for installing HD, Or CD-Rom.) I have to slam in hard to install my Cd-rom there. It's not as secure as using regular screw in rail.

2) The front door look greats, but it get annoying after awhile(opening & closing). It put three Cd-rom in my cases so I have to open the door to swap Cd's so often. The hinges are made of thin plastic. My first case arrive w/ both of the hinges broken, rendering the door useless.

3) The way it's made, it's hard to put a CD-Rom in the very top rack. The door won't be able to close if you put a Cd-Rom in the very top.

3) It's a heavy bitch even when it's empty:D

That's about it, I love this case otherwise. It's roomy, airy & solid built.
The side door is very easy to open w/ the latch. No more screwing & unscrewing. Also available in black.

humm....not sure what you mean about those drive rails.........they kick butt and are very easy to use and hold very tight. they're some of the best out there.

the front door is kinda flimsy so ive heard and im not a huge fan of doors since i just imagine a cd buring program trying to spit out a burnt cd when its closed . akk!

and how would a cd rom stop the door from closing?..that makes no sense........

and heavy means quality!

The Antec sx830 does NOT have a front door to interfere with the CDROM drives. The 1030 does. I have the sx830 so I do NOT have a front door and a CDROM installs nicely in the top drive bay. I also love the drive rails and they are very secure. I recommend the sx830 highly and I personally like it better than the 1030. Plus you get the 303x 300 watt smart power supply with the case for $80 including shipping from Onvia. I give it a 10!

Thanks for all the help. I have two IBM Deskstar 75gxp's....excellent drives, 45 gb apiece...one pioneer 16x dvd slot loader (oops...damn thing sounds like a turbine engine), Live! Drive (barf), floppy (of course), possibly an internal zip 3.25 if I go insane and think I need it, and that's about it. Am I okay with the 830? It looks like a mid, and perhaps I'm biased...but right now my cooling is garbage. My 1.7 volt processor heats up my room by 10 degrees because the side is off. Without the side off, you could cook an egg on the panel opposite the processor. There is no mount for a main exhaust fan, I'm kid you not. 4 screws for each side panel and 8 for the front. Six needle holes for intake. This case sucks my ass right off. anything would be better, but the 830 looks great. ^_^

comes in black, you say? If I can convince someone besides IBM to give me a good black monitor I'd have a completely black computer. ^_^

I have the 1030 and I have a cdrom in the top and the door closes just fine. When my case came in, it had three fans in it and I didn't order them. I absolutely love this case!!

I should point out that the SX1030 is available in black (SX1030B) but the SX830 is not available in black, and currently there are no plans to do so.

Is the SX830 white, or grayish? Stupid question maybe, but you want it to look good with your CD-ROM, DVD, Live Drive, Floppy, etc...

I just got the SX830 and love it. My only complaint is that there is no main switch at the back of the power supply. I like to kill the power from there when I am on the road. Rails are nice. I only wish I pulled off the front panel before I took the other side panel off. I didn't realize the whole floppy cage pulled out. It also looks like you could possibly mount another one of their hard drive bays under the one that is already installed if you find that the 3 hard drive bays are not enough.

I have the 1030, and man.. it was love at first sight! =)

I totally love it, but of course, there are 3 main flaws.

It's heavy as a *****!! That thing was like made to withstand bomb blast or something! Fully loaded rite now my case weight like 65lbs+.

The removable "slap on" expansion bay is cool and easy to work w/, but the lower one, where u put the HD and the fan that acts as the HD cooler, is kinda weird, your Graphics card kinda somwhat blocks the way, so you kinda got to remove it really carefully.

The front panel is cool, but yes, I ahve this case for 6 months now, and it's starting to get annoying, specially when you're moving your comp for LAN paties, and because the front panel is soo fragile, you're always afraid to hold on to it around that region, makes it doublely hard to carry an already overweight case anywhere.

Other than that.. this is one sweet case.. hehe, gonna mod it soon too =) Fanbus and Baybus and Neon Lights =) No need to add more fan, this case have plenty of ventilation already.. I have 4 Sunon 80mm running, 2 intake in front, and 2 exhaust =) just like a little rice rocket should be =)

Tuffguy - Yes, I have a SX1030. The thread title didn't indicate anything about comment are to be limited to SX830. The link provided put SX1030 right smack, so that's what I made my comment on. I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear on that point.

Diceman - The rail made my cdroms pop out whenever I unplug/reinstall the cable. When there is a Cd-rom install in the very top. The door can't be closed. Unless I've install everything wrong and need to push the CD-rom in some more. The door close fine if I don't put anything in the very top slot. There is a fold where the top of the door is at. They need to get rid of the fold or trim it. If anything the top drive will only be used for a hardrive.

Grass - I totally forgot about the speaker until you mention. No, I did not see any speaker. If there is one, it must be small and well hidden. I bought my 2 80mm fans from Outpost.com for $5 each w/ free overnight delivery 2 months ago.

Yes, I like the power also, It's will cost half the price of the case if you buy it separately.

My other wish to make this case a complete 10 is if the Sx1030 case can be made to look natural w/ the door, or w/out. It seem weird to me w/out the door on. It be awsome if the Sx1030 can look something like the Sx830 when the door are off. This make it more versatile when people decide that they are tired of the door.

A while back, people were complaining that the backpanel(where all the usb, keyboard is at) were too flimsy. My new Sx1030 came w/ the back panel double layer. It's pretty solid. Just for the heck of it, I try to poke out my old SX1030 's backpanel. The old backpanel seem pretty flimsy, but it hold up under my poking. If your backpanel are damaged though, you can order one from Antec for free.

I have a SX1030, I love it. I'm not trying to knock it down, Kenjura want to know if there are any downside to this case, so I told Kenjura some of the minor defect(in my opinion) to the case.

Well, I can't wait to get my sx830.......kickin case for $80........heck , for any price!.....I plan to slim down my stuff to a nice lean high performance machine.....I find if i have too many 5.25" bays (as with most people), you just go around trying to fill it up and look cool.........I think its better to have quality and not quantity.....unless its cooling........then quantity is good too ;)

Got a black sx1030
This case kicks a$$.
Worth every penny.
I have a black one.
With 4 case fans.
It rocks
;)

I have an 1030 that I bought from Onvia..came with 2 Antec fans mounted in the front, and I mounted 2 Sunon's in the front. I have a cd rom in the top bay, and my door closes fine. Mine also has a speaker, its mounted up in the front I think, as I can't see it, but it beeps when I boot my computer. oh, and this case rules! :)
