Some time ago I purchased an Antec Performance Plus 1080 case with 430W PSU. This was a very popular case in its day. My issue is that I never got the front panel USB ports to work correctly. I just assumed it was installer error but now I am thinking otherwise.
Now I am on my second build in this case and the front ports still fail once again giving hardware not recognized errors. The same error the first build was giving me. I checked the connection and all pins were on the motherboard USB header as per the wiring diagram from Gigabyte and Antec. The rear ports work fine on the motherboard so its a connection issue.
I was on a forum recently and read an old post that many of these cases were built with faulty front panel USB/firewire boards. Antec was sending out replacement panels for the bad ones at the time.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? I sent an email to Antec about this problem but I would be surprised after all these years they would send me a replacement panel. Let's see just how good their customer service really is..
