Antec P180 VS Lian-Li PC-V1000 Plus

I know there is a ~$80 price difference on average. Price aside, I'd still like to know different people's experiences with the P180 and V1000 Plus. If you had a plain V1000 speak up too.

My conclusion thus far:

I went to CompUSA to check out the P180 but the build quality did not seem very high. From what I can tell in V1000 reviews the build quality is great, and the motherboard positioning is better.

What mobo you going to put in it? Some of these mobos have heatpipes and from what I understand you have to invert (upside down)the mobos in the Lian-Li cases. The heatpipe mobos dont work well upside down. Might want to look into that.

I have a DFI nf4 Ultra-D, so no problem with heatpipe.

Yes poor implementations of heatpipe cooling are affected by positioning. Think early Thermalright heatpipe heatsinks vs newer ones.

I have a V1100B Plus and I LOVE it 🙂 Considered a P180, but seriously, Lian-Li is a cut above the rest.

I have to agree with the caz.... I have a Lian-Li v1100 and I absolutely love it. I will never buy anything but Lian-LI. True, they are very expensive, but in terms of design, build quality, and aesthetics, they are simply untouchable. I'll reward a company that produces a product that stands head and shoulders above the competition with my business.

I have both the V1000B and the P180. The build quality and ease of working inside is superior on the V1000.

They both are superb cases, with the V-1000 having a slight advantage (no plastic, easier working inside) although I don't think it's worth the 80$ extra (well that's just because I really like the P180 design too)..
