Antec P180 + OCZ 470 + bottom 120mm fan

I noticed in AT's review of the P180 that they had to flip the fan to the other side of the bracket in order to accomodate the relatively deep OCZ PSU. I also have one of these power supplies as well as three hard drives that I'd place in the bottom chamber. According to the review, you can no longer use the bottom cage for drives once you've flipped the fan. Are things that tight with the OCZ? Would a 25mm deep fan help at all? What's another good PSU with a front fan that would be ideal for this setup?

Things are very tight in the bottom of the case. If you move the fan to the other side, you could probably still fit drives in, but normal cables would be sticking right out into the fan.

If you have right angle sata cables, you might be able to do it. I've posted an internal pic of my rig around here somewhere, you can get an idea of what you're dealing with.

As my sig makes obvious, pc p&c makes a great ps for the p180, albeit quite expensive for anybody not into overclocking.

Have you tried it with a 25mm deep fan? How much room are we talking? Since I have 3 drives, I can't just mount all of them at the top of the case.

I found a few pics here. That is indeed pretty tight. Now I just need to figure out if my PSU and HDs will be ok without the case fan in the bottom. Obviously there will be some airflow thanks to the two fans in the OCZ PSU, but there is essentially nothing else scavenging heat from that area.

I just found it stupid how for the lower chamber, you cant install a fan into the front section without having to modify the case. I know its been designed like that for noise purposes but still, would be a perfect option I rekon for those whos PSU is too big to fit into the lower chamber. Heat wise, correct me if I'm wrong, I doubt it'll cause much of a fuss considering it is drawing hot air from the HDD towards the PSU even when its in the middle section. Sorry just my little rant of the day :]

Saying that have you tried modifyin the front to accommodate a 120mm fan. I havent done this but I'm sure the thin fans that came with the case would fit there if those pieces of metal bits were to be cut out, I cant explain it but look at your case and u'll see what I mean. Good luck!

I don't have a P180 yet, I'm just trying to size up how my PSU and hard drives will fit (no pun intended).

oh ok then
Well aside from the little faults this case has (non upside down board design, door, tight lower chamber) I'm sure u'll be pretty happy with the case.
