Antec or Chieftec?

I see there is a great deal on the Chieftec w/ 420 watt power supply. I was really leaning towards the Antec SX1040B but this one is about $30 cheaper. Is there any reason why I should NOT get the chieftec? I already have 3 Panaflos so not coming w/ fans does not matter. I will be putting an Asus mobo and a P4 1.6A. Help me out please people. Thanks.

After further thought I was curious about another thing. The literature is not too good on Chieftec's site. I was wondering if both the Antec SX1040B and the Chieftec DX-01-DB both can have 2 hard drives? If someone knows I would really appriciate the help. Seems to me the only dif. is the power supply and no fans in Chieftec. Thanks all.

My sister got the Chieftech with the 420W Channelwell last week, and I have an Antec. They're the same chassis. The lower HDD cage with the fan in it can take up to three hard drives, and the one above it can take up to three more 3.5" drives, although most people would use them for removable-media (floppy/Zip) drives. Since the two exposed 3.5" positions are in the upper cage, it can't have a fan.

Great. Thanks for the info. I thought they were built on the same chasis and I could have 2 HD in either. Looks like the $ saving on the Chieftec will be the way to go. I have heard great things about Antec products and power supplies but Chieftec w/ 420 watts also looks good. Thanks again.

From what everyone is reporting regarding how cool the 1.6A's run, you might not need all those fans. Unless you are running a loaded system, one 80mm fan in the back should be enough. Or maybe two fans running at 7v to knock down the speed and noise.

<< Antec case are made by Chieftec >>

Antec, chieftech, and enermax (the ones that look like antecs) cases are made by chenming
