For those of you who do not want to pay shipping, Fry's has this case on sale for the same price (89.99) in their Southern California brick and mortar stores.

This case is ridiculous. It takes three hours to set up and wiring the thing pissed me off to no end. Did I mention it looks like a refrigerator that got kicked in?

looks like a good deal.
didnt need all that cooling and noise though, so I went with P180B instead.

It makes a nice computer, it's a little tricky to set up (not 3 hours) but the cooling makes the case well worth the money. Dropped the temps in my Oc'd E 6700 rig from 53C to 38C in a heartbeat.

I also have to agree that is a excellent case. This was one of the easier cases to work with. No where near 3 hours to put together

How bout a nice tower case with good cooling that doesn't feature 5 tons of plexiglass
Not shitting on the deal, but why do they have to be so tacky

Ah the days of practical simplicity

and I'm not sure what case you were using prior, but a 30F degree temp drop......

did you have the old one lined with insulation perhaps

This case isn't easy to work with IF you worked with cases such as the P150 or P180. There are screws galore to remove and install. And when you use the cages to install hard drives you have to be careful not to pinch the fan cables. The back fan installation becomes useless once once you installed hard drives in the cage. This is because the hard drives will stick out preventing the installation of the fan. You still have the front however, which is enough.

To get to the cages you have to remove 4 screw each on both the left and right side of the case. P150/P180, you just slide the whole cage out..one step. Then you have to deal with holes that might not completely line up properly. Definitely not the best to work with in terms of ease. There are much better cases out there if you wait for the same price point. Construction doesn't seem to be as nice or smooth as the my P150 or the P180's I've built either. Interesting look nontheless.

Having said that though, and after all my bitching on it's troublesome installations, I had it up and running. The best part is that it is quiet and runs cool. I'm thinking of getting another fan for the side panel as I'm OCing my setup.

People who are saying this case is a piece of cake to work with apparently have done a just comparison. This is not an easy case compare to other Antec cases.

I was using a lian Li 65B (if you were remarking about my post) The LL is a beautiful case but if you add an 8800 series video card the airflow is diverted from the CPU and the beautifully constructed case becomes a "George Forman chicken cooker". Add an overclocked core2duo interior and the heat builds rapidly. I've seen some parts for the case that can increase the airflow but they are expensive. I'll stick with the nine hundred and use the Lian Li for an anchor.

I got in on a 900 when it was $60AR with free shipping from Fry's. Definitely quieter and cooler than my old case that had 4x80mm and 1x120mm on a fan controller on low. Not a perfect case but its still quiet and cool if that's what you are looking for.

I've had/have the following cases:

Antec P180B
Lian Li PC-V1000B
Lian Li PC-V1100B
Coolermaster Cavilier
Antec Nine Hundred
Antec Lanboy
Thermaltake Tsunami

That's also the order in terms of easiest to hardest to put components inside. Those saying this case is extremely easy to work with apparently haven't worked with any other cases. It's not the hardest case to work with, but it certainly isn't the easiest. The Tsunami was the worst case I've ever worked with. Felt cheap, flimsy, motherboard holes didn't align perfectly and it was cramped! And that is the only case I can say for sure that is worse to set up than this case.

A couple of more subjective notes I want to make. It's a very nice case, and for 89.99, it's relatively worth it. I'm not sure if there are any other cases in this price range that can compete with looks and cooling.

Pros:
-Extremely effective cooling
-Quiet!
-Looks good
-Black!
-Blue LEDs!

Cons:
-Poor build quality for a $90 case (front cages don't align perfectly, sorry I'm use to Lian Li)
-Blue LEDs!

I like this case but am going to wait on a good deal on a P182, which I think is a somewhat better case, even though it lacks the humongous 200mm top fan, having only a 120mm fan on top. I can do without all the LEDs and side window in favor of a better build and lower noise with an external fan control. Who wants to have to open a case to change fan settings.

I've done 3 Antec nine hundred builds. All core2 duo machines with decent mobos.
I don't think the build is difficult but certainly agree with those of you that say this isn't a perfectly engineered case.

THe Lian Li is wonderfully manufactured case but with no airflow, at least the models that I have. I'm just not going to pay $200+ for a computer case. I'll put the money in the processor.

I still install floppys in my computers and to me installing the floppy is the hardest part of building a computer using the nine hundred case. A 3rd grader could have engineered a better way to mount the floppy. When reading the thread it was interersting to see no one mentioned that disaster.

Antec always sends one less standoff than needed, no big deal but I hate looking through a milloin tiny parts to find a matching standoff. They send enough screws to melt down and build a car.

Despite my gripes, the thing looks decent when finished, the temps are cool and you can pick up the phone and call Antec and get a part if needed. Also if you cruise these forums you can find a deal every few weeks.

Bottom line: I think that you are the level of computer building that you research forums and read, the nine hundred is not going to be a challenge and might take an extra 1/2 hour to build but it's certainly decent case for the money.

Excellent review. Thanks. I put a floppy in every system that I build so your tip makes me smile.

i don't think my p180 is easy to work with at all. everything in the bottom front is too cramped, from the front panel connectors to the hard drive bays. an inch added to each dimension would make it so much easier.

i kinda miss the wide open space of the 'classic' antec
