So...how good is the Nine Hundred compared to the P180? My P180 is on the way from Best Buy (damn you!)

I'm sure it's a high quality case that keeps all your parts really cool but:

1. Doesn't come with PSU where the other antecs come with great ones.

2. It is REALLY REALLY loud compared to what you expect from the previous antec p series.

Guess I'll be keeping my P180 then. :p

Not true. You can control the speeds of all your fans. I've personally used both a P180 and the 900. The 900 is a great case. But it was a bitch to work with because there were a lot of screws to deal with when installing drives. It's a great case and has lots of room. I like my P180 as well. But for the P180 I personally feel that the bottom part of it where the PSU lies + the four hard drives are a pain to deal with. That kind of space is just TOO small to work with. There is HUGE amounts of space to work with for the 900.

One thing that I don't like about the newer Antec cases is the lack of a built-in speaker. When I turn on the computer, I'd like to hear a beep to make sure it POSTed correctly.

Second thing I don't like is that fact at the PSU is on the bottom. While this is great since it's directly in front of fans for most cases from Antec, but I've encountered the same issue with the P180 and the 900: lack of extension cables. For the 900, the 8 pin power connector for newer ATX 2.0 configures was literally stretched thin. I had to pull the cable from the bottom to the top and it literally looks like it's straight up. This is totally bad for the wires since they have to stay bent to get connected to the motherboard. Just to play it safe I bought extension cables for the 8 pin 12V and the 4 pin 12V to make sure I'm not putting stress on the wires coming out from the PSU. So far these are the only issues I've had with Antec cases.

I prefer to select the power supply myself depending on my needs. I do not want it to be dictated to me by the case manufacturer. Many consider a case that comes with a supply a negative.

god do i hate the lower chamber on the P180. i had to put the fan back in there after my drives started cooking themselves. what a pain in the ass. if that chamber were an inch or an inch and a half taller it'd be so much easier to work in.

I usually prefer picking my own PSU but when cases like the p150 come with a 430watt neopower, it makes it a better value in my opinion. The psu itself is valued around $75 and the case w/ psu can be found at frys.com for $99AR. And the sound issue is relevant because the p150 and 180 use sound dampening plastic and foam AS WELL as fan controls making the 900 louder because it is full metal with air holes everywhere. This is why the 900 is in a different category as the perfomance one series that advertise "whisper-quiet" operation.

Ahh! Very good posts, you two! Guess I'll have to "borrow" the 900 from Fry's! :D

I'm using the NineHundred and each fan has a low, medium, high slid setting. I've taken the middle cage with the fan and move it to the top and placed my harddrives in it and moved the optical drives to the middle of the case. There by I've got air flow at the bottom to the powersupply added 12cm fan for the videocard on the door and with the 12cm fan at top along with that big bad fan at the top and the 12 cm fan at the back. I've guite happy with the cooling and set the fans on low ....very low noise on this setting. Trying to justify buying another case for that AMD 3800 I just got for $20. Hmm wonder if my wife will kill me tonight if i come home with more computer parts.

The only negative with the case was fitting my graphics card dvi to vga adapter was a very tight squeeze. Saving up for 2 of the 26" Acers

Antec is one of the best for cases.
It is not one of the very best for power supplies though. As long as I can get a Seasonic power supply, I will not get an Antec power supply.
