That is the main benefit of this power supply over Fortron's power supplies (besides the modular plugs, of course). Have one 12V rail for the motherboard / CPU and another one for peripherals makes sure you won't run out of juice on the already overburdened 12V rail. I got it for my system since I have 6800 Ultra besides by Athlon 64 3500+ and 74GB Raptor (and more in the not so distant future).

Great supply, not bad for the price.

some other reasons to get it, in addition to the dual rails (really nice) and modular plugs, it is 1) active PFC and 2) has one 120mm fan (so really quiet). all of those make this a great PSU (but, as people have mentioned, expensive). quality PSU - i have one myself.

Fortron also has PSU with dual 12V rails. Keep in mind that neither offer higher capacity due to the dual rails, as it's actually only one rail that gets split right before the output, so the primary benefit is that a sudden change in load keeps the other rail more stable, but it slightly reduces the total 12V rail capacity over having same PSU design without the split rails. Not that it's BAD, but dual rail psu are mainly of benefit to someone with either dual CPU or extremely o'c single CPu.

Umm, anyone else notice that the listed MTBF is only 80,000 hours at 25?C ? That's kinda low for a PSU in this price class, might give some of you a little pause.

Modular PSUs look such cool idea! I totally love it. How many unused floating cables everyone has in his case?
Unfortunately every retailer thinks this would be the next thing to cash on.
For comparison I bought my non modular 550Watt Antec for $95 some time ago from newegg:
