These look like an awesome deal! Now if only I can get a clear window for my cases, and talk the wife into it... hm....😀
Just go to Home Depot if you have one near you. I picked up a 12"x12" piece of Lexan for about $4. They sell same sized pieces of acrylic for about $2 a piece. I got the Lexan b/c if was protected on both sides, while the acrylic wasn't. Plus I read that it's easier to cut Lexan than it is acrylic. I measured & cut the window myself with a jigsaw and then put chrome door edge guards (a few $$$ from Walmart in the auto dept) as trim along the edges. Taped the Lexan to the case with double-sided mounting tape (a few more $$$), and I was set. Total cost for the case mod ($20 for the cold cathode, $4 for the fiberglass, $2 for the tape, $3 for the trim, $9 for the Antec fan, $2 for fan guards, and about $4 for jigsaw blades = $44). Next up is to get a UV cold cathode & some rounded UV reactive IDE cables.

Well, I received my shipment today. Unfortunately they screwed up my order. I ordered three fans, but they only sent me one fan PLUS Omnipage Pro 12 upgrade...which is a $133 value according to their website. So basically they didn't send me $15 worth of fans, but they sent me $133 worth of software.

complain so you can get your fans...

Yeh, I know. I'm honest, so I told them that had sent me this software.....just waiting to hear back from them. From the looks of it, they are back on backorder, so if my other two fans are backordered as well, I'm going to raise hell!

lol, wtg buy.com!!! I have never forgiven them for a mobo deal they had a while back and canceled the order after a week b/c they couldn't find the "resources"!

dang, still on backorder.....

btw, KlineD, they are 4 pin for power, but they have another wire that plugs into a 3 pin connector to sense rpm's.

I'd probably just plug the rpm sensing wire in for a while to see the average speed, then unplug it so it wont hog a 3 pin mobo header that I could use for another fan.

just for comparison..ne1 knows APPROX how many cfm the amd fan that came with my 2100+ puts out? Somewhere about 28 right?

augh! please stop posting stuff like this! I already bought one from when it was $10.... and now it's only $7! The insanity! My bank can't take it! I ordered 3 more!

*breaks down and crys*

if u really want to pinch pennies they are on ebay for 99 cents each for next few hours. Theres plenty of them, not going to raise in price. Shipping is 6.95 for 2 day shipping here

well I'm officially a cool nerd now.
went ahead and ordered one of the tri-colored ones.

you know this is a gateway mod before I know it I'll have an aluminum case with acrylic windows, cathodes and a radiation decal. 😀
