Antec EasyUSB USB 2.0 compliant?

Title says it all. I looked at the Antec site and at several reviews and can't find definative info on this. One review said that EasyUSB was USB 2.0 compliant but nowhere else was it mentioned. Has anyone used this for USB 2? TIA for any info you can share.

Well, unless their labeling is more hype than substance, I guess I'm screwed unless I buy the "2" version. I had a couple of the earlier versions left in my box of toys and had hoped to use one on the system I'm building.
Funny, the pinouts look compatible (MB vs EasyUSB). Any idea if there is a real difference in the two? Anyone?

I just found this on the Antec FAQ site:
Q: How do I connect the EasyUSB and firewire/USB ports to my motherboard?
Our EasyUSB and USB port on the case are both 2.0 compliant, meaning that they will work to up 2.0 speed. Furthermore, they are compatible with any motherboard with USB headers.
The installation of the EasyUSB and USB port from the case to the motherboard is very similar. Check this link for the color code chart of each wire:

Then match the pin out of the USB headers from the motherboard to the color-coded wires. Some rewiring on your part may be required. There is a need for only 1 ground per row. In addition, you must not connect to the pin labeled OC for over current or NC for no connection. If you have any question, feel free to contact Antec at 510-770-1200 X 800

For firewires, there are 6 single leads that are supposed to be connected to firewire headers on the motherboard. This firewire port is designed to be connected to motherboards with firewire headers. In case your motherboard doesn't have one, you may want to try an aftermarket PCI card. However, the PCI card must have firewire headers and not cable port.
Still a bit of a question as it does not mention whether this refers to the original version or the EasyUSB2. Still searching for info..........?

I don't know about it being compliant. I have an Antec case with a front panel USB/Firewire connector. I connected the front connectors to my motherboard's (Asus P4PE) USB 2.0 headers, but received errors from Windows XP Pro saying that the USB 2.0 periperhal connected to those ports is only running at USB 1.1. I emailed Antec about this and they (eventually) sent me a replacement case front panel USB connector. Oddly enough, the one they sent me were exactly the same as the one I removed!

My rule of thumb is: If it doesn't say "USB 2.0" it isn't.

UPDATE! Well, it seems it does in fact work; at least so far. I plugged the EasyUSB cable into the USB 2.0 header on the MB and I didn't get any errors or gagging by XP upon bootup. I plugged in a 64MB memory key and XP went through it's normal recognition process and I was able to read the files just fine. However, this unit is a USB 1.1 device so I do not know if the ports will indeed work at USB 2.0 speeds as yet. I am at least encouraged so far though. I then went through and plugged the memory key into the other onboard USB2 ports and the USB 1.1 ports and saw the exact same recognition/reading process; no errors. As a final check, I also checked in Device Manager and there were no errors evident there either.

I don't want to dash your hopes, but the truth will be told when you plug in a USB 2.0 device. I have a couple of them that I wanted to plug into the front of my case, but until I received a replacement USB 2.0 compliant USB 2.0/Firewire port for the case the USB 2.0 devices wouldn't work.

No more true words have been told! Got the "there is a non-high speed device plugged into the high speed system" error message when I tried it. Damn! Well, back to the drawing board. I sent off a nasty message to Antec support about their site essentially saying it would work and not mentioning EasyUSB vs EasyUSB2. Not holding my breath though and going to start looking around for a solution. Gee, ya think EasyUSB2?!?
BTW, here is why I was confused and thinking that this might work. This is a direct copy/paste from the Antec FAQ's:

Notice that it does not say EasyUSB2! If that isn't misleading/deceptive, I don't know what is. :|
