Well, unless their labeling is more hype than substance, I guess I'm screwed unless I buy the "2" version. I had a couple of the earlier versions left in my box of toys and had hoped to use one on the system I'm building.Originally posted by: bluntman
Antec has two versions of their EasyUSB, there's the EasyUSB and there's the EasyUSB 2.0.
Still a bit of a question as it does not mention whether this refers to the original version or the EasyUSB2. Still searching for info..........?Q: How do I connect the EasyUSB and firewire/USB ports to my motherboard?
Our EasyUSB and USB port on the case are both 2.0 compliant, meaning that they will work to up 2.0 speed. Furthermore, they are compatible with any motherboard with USB headers.
The installation of the EasyUSB and USB port from the case to the motherboard is very similar. Check this link for the color code chart of each wire:

Then match the pin out of the USB headers from the motherboard to the color-coded wires. Some rewiring on your part may be required. There is a need for only 1 ground per row. In addition, you must not connect to the pin labeled OC for over current or NC for no connection. If you have any question, feel free to contact Antec at 510-770-1200 X 800
For firewires, there are 6 single leads that are supposed to be connected to firewire headers on the motherboard. This firewire port is designed to be connected to motherboards with firewire headers. In case your motherboard doesn't have one, you may want to try an aftermarket PCI card. However, the PCI card must have firewire headers and not cable port.
Probably a wise choice. My rule of thumb is: If it doesn't say "USB 2.0" it isn't.
No more true words have been told! Got the "there is a non-high speed device plugged into the high speed system" error message when I tried it. Damn! Well, back to the drawing board. I sent off a nasty message to Antec support about their site essentially saying it would work and not mentioning EasyUSB vs EasyUSB2. Not holding my breath though and going to start looking around for a solution. Gee, ya think EasyUSB2?!?I don't want to dash your hopes, but the truth will be told when you plug in a USB 2.0 device.
