I read this EA500 Review, and this NeoPower550 Review. I think the conclusion is that they're both pretty good quality.

They're going for about the same price on NewEgg.

What is odd is that the EA500 is 80 PLUS Certified, but the NP500 is not.

I'm a little confused which one to go for. I don't care whether or not its modular - I just want it to be quiet, cool, and power efficient.

I have an EA380 now and I love it. I need something more powerful for a Biostar G965 system I'm building.

The NeoPower offers more power on the +12V rails, so it will probably be the better choice if you really need more power.

I don't need more power, just better power. :)

You just said...

Either will work fine, and the reviews show efficiency to be similar. Heck they even use some of the same components, and the voltage output is incredibly stable for each unit. The next biggest difference is just the modular design. You can't really go wrong with either power supply.

Either is fine go based on price.

The EA500 was orginaly a Seasonic based PSU but antec switched odm's to Delta for the EA430 & EA500, both are good quality though, the EA380 was the only earthwatts PSU still made by Seasonic still as far as I'm aware.

The NeoPower unit is still Seasonic as far as I'm aware,

As cusideabelincoln stated you can't really go wrong w/ either.
