Antec EA380W OR Corsair CX400w

Hello,

My 6 years old Antec was burnt out last night and I would like to buy a new PSU for this coming weekend.

I used the PSU calculator and found that I only need about 170W currently (e8400+7600+2HDD+2USB+2x80mm fan, no CF/SLi, no oc). So I come up with Antec EA380W OR Corsair CX400w which either of it can deliver sufficient power for my system.

So I want some recomendations for PSU that should I go: Antec again ? Or try Corsair this time ?

thx all

This is a comparison between two low end psus from pretty good brands. But I think corsair wins out for the fact almost all their psus are great and the CX400 has reviewed well also considering it's low price.

Either one of them will do, but I do like the Corsair just a bit more. Now if you had the Antec 430w Earthwatts PSU than that would be a closer comparison. If you can get the 380w for a bit less than that would be the one that I'd get. The Antec 380w has 27A on the 12v rails and the Corsair 400w has 30A on the 12v rail, so that would be favoring the Corsair PSU, if you get a similar price.

Whichever is cheaper 😀

The Antec is either made by Seasonic or (more likely) Delta, the Corsair by CWT. All three are good OEMs, so it is kind of hard to go wrong. However, in general, 120mm fan will be quieter than an 80mm, but the Earthwatts is by no means loud either.
