No exhaust fan, and no place to put one. No mention of USB ports. Looks like an older Antec model. Not sure I'd want this for anything today.

Looks like an older Antec KS288 (Mid Tower) or KS388 (Mini Tower). Might be good for an old socket 370 MB running an overclocked Celeron 300A . ;)

>KS388 (Mini Tower)
Its a slighly shorter tower. Non-enthusiasts generally like the case smaller. It does have a mount for a front fan and lots of vent slots on the back of the case. It should be cooler than 95% of the cases that come with appliance store computers.

- 300w P4 Rdy ATX Power Supply Included!
- (3) 5.25 inch bays
- (3) 3.5 inch bay internal others external
- E-Z removable one piece panel for fast access

$35.70 shipped.

I'm thinking of buying this just for the power supply (assuming, of course, that it's an Antec). Worth it?

that is a pretty old case. i found one in a dumpster here at school before that the engineering school threw out. it probably would have a non p4 compliant pp303x for a power supply

That might be a fun case to practice modding on for those of us that aren't very good at it *cough* ;)

I've purchased from package2you before with no problems at all. They have oddball merchandise at great prices.

I do not actually know if this is an Antec case, but I have an identical one I am using to put together my new P$ system. I am at work, so cannot inspect the case further, but.... Mine came from University surplus store. The original computer was a regional third party computer manufactor. The case is rock solid and very well constructed, even the power on button is solid, so it is probably an older model Antec. I am putting in a new Antec power supply, and cannot recall what I took out as far as power. I'll post again with more info if I find anything new

Read the ad. It mentions three different times that the PSU is P4 compliant.

Has anyone ordered, and if so, what is the shipping? This looks like a nice deal.

I ordered one. $14.88 shipping to NYC. I only build AMD , this is going to be a simple system ( one hd,a cd-rw and a non overclocked XP1700 on a K7S5APro)and I think any Antec 300W p/s should be fine for my needs.

It is going to be more than fine, 220W combined, rock solid. The trouble is this case and PSU won't take any upgrade and the ventilation of the case seems deficient, more like for Pentiums from yesteryears. Good luck.

the best part is they lost their domain somehow and you're ordering from an IP address. if they're not responsible to renew their own domain...

oh well microsoft once lost its passport.com...

Orders are placed from their Homepage.

This is a sturdy case but using the older design, should be a workable foundation for a moderately low-heat, low-powered system running a Coppermine, Tualatin, or < XP1900 T'Bred Athlon combined with conservative video card... The Athlons would benefit a lot from cutting out that stamped-in front fan grill and installing a fan. Due to the "stepped" design on the rear case wall, there is insufficient space there to mount a 80mm fan even if you cut your own hole, but IIRC you can "barely" mount a 60mm fan after cutting a hole.

The power supply should be able to handle as much equipment as the case cooling can handle, so it's a fair balance. The thing I hate most about cases designs iike this is the one-piece outer cover. Side-panels (alone) aren't removable, both sides and the top are a single piece of sheet metal. However, there is also a top panel to the case frame itself, making for a very sturdy case, sturdier than most any design using side-panels, and the 1mm sheet metal doesn't hurt either. However, IIRC, this case doesn't have rolled-edges on the metal, so minor care is needed to avoid cutting fingers or improperly secured wires.

I would't buy this case for the power supply alone, you're just as well off with a 300W Sparkle and shipping for that would be cheaper too, but if you were in a unique situation like already having a nice case with an older system in it, and wanted to reuse your nice case for a rebuild, needed something adquate for the old parts so you can sell them as a system, this might be just right.

Nice solid case. Thick steel makes it quiet.
Put a couple of 60mm fans next to the I/O shield and a 120mm in front.
Purrs right along.
