Anandfan, Gracjan: thanks for the comments re: the volume level of this case. I may pick one up. For the first PC I ever put together from parts about 5 years ago, I picked up a "Silencer" power supply from PC Power & Cooling which has left me spoiled ever since in terms of decibel level. Since then I've pretty much moved to garden variety InWin and Enlight cases which sound like a jet engines in comparison... I'm starting to wonder if the only way to return to that level of quietness is to just break down and buy another PCP&C Silencer P/S, so that's why I'm so curious about this Antec.

For you guys who have this case, i was wondering if your front panel leds turn off after you shut down. Mine doesn't, i guess it's just like a stand by mode or something? Thanks.

This is a very good deal for a nice case. I think Antec is the price/performance leader right now. You can certainly get a better case and ps, but not for $50. The last 4 systems I put together were using 'Antec outside'...no problems yet. My own two systems are using the P303X supplies and they've both been running 24/7 for over a year.

daytonl - I had the same problem. Couldn't get the case in my cart (or login) with either Netscape or IE.

I finally went to Safeweb, and on to Onvia through there. Worked for me.

I don't know why it's not working directly. Must be a DNS problem or something . . . ;)

For $50 this is great! I was going to buy a case this week anyway - can't get anything like this for that price!

I have this case, and it is not quiet, but not loud, as another poster stated. I bought two fans for it from outpost and they seem to keep the case temperature at a very modest level. I am very impressed by it.

Just got this case. I could have researched more and spent much more, but the price and availability was right in this case! The inside looks pretty clean and the rave reports lead me to think this was a good decision. Athlon approved PS is definitely a huge consideration with the unbeatable price/performance of Athlon rigs these days. Does anyone know if you can fit a 92mm fan into this thing? I have a 92mm Panaflo in my existing case that I can't let go of because of it's quiet power.

I just placed an order for this too - tossed in a couple of 80mm case fans for a total of $65 shipped. Thanks! This forum has been terrific for my computer-in-progress...

Quick question - I bought two 80mm 3-pin fans for this case, then I read in the "forum" on Onvia that this case takes 4-pin fans. I've never bought case fans before, and I have no idea if this is going to cause a problem. Can anyone tell me if I should cancel the fans from this order? For some reason Onvia doesn't seem to have 80mm 4-pin fans...at least, not Antec fans. Thanks guys...

The three pin fans connect to 'fan headers' on the motherboard. The four pin connect directly to the molex plugs coming from the power supply. I would strongly suggest getting the four pin variety since it is usually a bad idea to use fan headers for anything but low power vid card or cpu fans.

I feel an Onvia "in stock--out of stock---backordered" cancellation coming on.

Hope we all get one but don't be dissappointed if it gets cancelled.

Thanks Kadeeu for the post!

I just called Onvia and changed my order to a pair of 4-pin fans. Thanks! They also told me that they are now out of stock on this case, and the guy I spoke to wasn't sure if I'd even gotten in on the deal in time (I ordered around noon PST). I meant to ask him to check when I was done talking to him about the fans, but I forgot. Now I'm on hold...I'll update as soon as I find anything out!

I ordered this case exactly 30 days ago today. I paid $65.03 for it. I just e-mailed them to ask for a credit.

Ok, I just got off the phone with Onvia again, and they tell me that they are definitely sold out of this case, but they couldn't check to see if I got one because the warehouse closed at 5. They also told me that the stock on the website will continue to say "in stock" until Monday when they manually update the site! So everyone who ordered, keep your fingers crossed...

I used to buy only generic cases from comp shows. Then I bought an Antec and wow, there is such a difference. Its so much easier to put together and no cuts from the metal parts. This is a great deal for this case. I just ordered a ks 382 w/ 250 ps for around the same price from onvia. Wished I had gotten this though.

HaVoC:

Yes you can put a 90mm in the front (not back). If you look carefully at the hole pattern for the "grill" holes in the panel, if you center a 90mm you will see that the holes in the fan's casing where the case screws would go, line up with solid metal just outside the outermost line of case holes. Mark the 4 spots with a pencil and drill away. Be accurate and shove something inside the case (before adding hardware) to keep any metal chips from getting where you don't want them. Vacuum and clean. I put a 90mm Panaflo in mine. All the original case holes line up to cover the space needed by the 90mm, so you won't need to drill any more, other than the 4 screw holes.

Roomy case. Unfortunately, I paid $80 at BustBuy.

Has anyone who ordered this today gotten a shipping confirmation yet? I ordered around noon and my order is still pending...I hope that doesn't mean I missed out! Guess I'll just have to be patient and wait till Monday to find out...

Just a quick question: Since Onvia doesn't actually carry stock - they drop ship from Ingram Micro - does that mean that buy.com is also out of them (since buy.com and many others etailers also sell through ingram micro)?

What I am wondering is does Onvia have a certain allotment with Ingram Micro? Or are they able to sell out the warehouse to the potential detriment of other resellers?

I called Onvia and spent a half-hour on hold just after noon and the CSR told me they were cleaned out. She told me she checked several different distributors, who were all backordered, and called another, who was also backordered.

I tried to get Egghead.com to price match and they just did not want to play.

Apparently Anandtech's ATHLON certified ps shootout crowned the Antec PS as the winner for being the only PS in the shootout to never glitch even under the heaviest loads.
