I just saw that Onvia.com lowered their price on this case/power supply combo from 69.99 to 49.99. They also have free shipping on everything right now.

Does anyone have links to pictures of this case. I went to Antec's website, but they only have 1 picture and it's small. Thank you.

If anyone here has this case, could you give some idea as to how quiet (or noisy) it is?

ADDENDUM: I've ready all the reviews doclinked by others here, and they really give no indication as to the sound level of this thing (although one review did mention that the variable power supply fan barely ran which sounds very promising.) Any first-hand experiences you all could share would be most welcome.

TonDef: I have the case. very nice. it is not the quietest case I've had,but it is also not the noisiest. somewhere in the middle. My quietest case is a CompGeek $24 special, but it hardly moves any air. I was hoping this case would be as quiet.

Onvia has a 30-day price protection policy. So if you ordered this at the higher price - like I did - then just call them up and they will credit you the difference.

Can anyone speak as to how the Antec cases compare to the Fong Kai cases recommended by Anandtech system guides? Thanks.

I got this case for my sister's computer in May '00. I was reasonably impressed by it-I have a larger Antec case for my computer, but that really is overkill. No hernias lugging it around-but then no slide-out motherboard tray, nine zillion drive bays, etc.

Wolverine88: As I recall (could be remembering wrong case) the 3.5 drive cage was easily detachable-flip a lever. Makes it real nice to add a new drive & actually put all four mounting screws in.

The Antec 303x power supply is excellent-quiet, 300 watts and Athlon approved.

I reccommend this one.

A regular floppy goes behind the front plastic panel. The panel button pushes the floppy eject button. Works fine (unless you paint the case and *lose* the panel's light pipe to the floppy's activity led--ate a fdd that way trying to eject while writing).

This is an EXCELLENT case with everything I wanted except a removable M/B tray. I bought 4 at 63.05 which was their previous price. I don't know where you guys are getting 69.95 from unless they raised their price then lowered it. At 49.95, I don't think there is any other solution for a nice case at the best possible price. If you want better, it's gonna cost you much more for not a lot extra.

I can't seem to register or add anything to my basket at Onvia. Is anyone else experiencing this? I've been trying for about an hour.

I can find it, I just can't buy it. I add the case to the shopping cart and netscape says (network error: connection refused).

Legion I have both the antec 282 and a Fong Kai 603. The Fong Kai is more expensive (especially with shipping), but in my opinion you get what you pay for. The build quality of the Fong is superior, it comes with two different faces and an exhaust fan and shroud that extracts air over your processor. However, the antec is a very decent case and you can't beat the price with free shipping.
