The Friday before last, a well meaning junior Antec Rep started a generous but unauthorized promotional giveaway in the Cases and Cooling forum.
At the time, SunnyD was not only the runaway leader, he was the unanimous leader. You could just feel the love!
Unfortunately, we needed to call a temporary halt to that contest. Anand himself explained why in detail at the end of that thread:
Nobody wanted it to end this way. Anand was particularly determined that it not end this way. He and I both wanted SunnyD to get a case, but first, Anand had to clear this with his legal department. They have now given their ok, and so:
As a gesture of goodwill entirely separate from any contest past or present, Antec, in cooperation with AnandTech, is pleased to announce that they are sending a free Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 case to the illustrious poster SunnyD.
I think we're all happy that this monster enthusiast's case is going to a long-time Antec patron who will make geeky-good, water-cooled use of it.
I know Anand is.
I know I am, too.
Sometimes, good things happen to good people. Cheers, SunnyD!

Unfortunately, we needed to call a temporary halt to that contest. Anand himself explained why in detail at the end of that thread:
By Tuesday, with Antec's formal cooperation, the original contest had been re-purposed into an installment of our main site's ongoing giveaways. Unfortunately, this left SunnyD's previous landslide win by the wayside."Unfortunately, with the size of AnandTech, we can no longer offer giveaways without following strict guidelines and attach the appropriate legal disclaimers. In the old days it used to be me randomly picking a number and calling someone up on the phone to tell them they've won a prize, but after a couple of companies were actually sued for the ways they handled giveaways on the site we have to do things differently. With the help of our lawyers we drafted some basic policies that need to be followed and implemented them late last year.
While Antec's gesture was appreciated, it didn't go through the normal AnandTech channels. If something were to happen and a prize was promised but not delivered or if there were issues with the selection process based, this could create problems."
