Antec 900 V2 Owners - Easy Front Fan Filter Access??

I recently had to do a temp rebuild into my spare Antec 900 V2. Got everything in and decided to upgrade the front two 120mm fans. I have Sflex 1900rpm in there now.

My biggest hassle is cleaning out the fan filters there. I have been pulling the case out and unbolting the drive cage to pop the filters out.

Does anyone have an easier option? I tried popping just the fan holder off from the front but when the HDD cage is tightened fully, only the top one comes off easy. I have plenty of fan wire slack (extenders on a fan controller) but still not an easy way to get access to the fan filters.

Is it safe enough to leave the HDD cages loose in the frame, or at least less tight? Or does anyone have a trick to popping the filters out when needed for a frequent cleaning in a dusty locale? Or if you've tried vacuuming, does the fine mesh actually get clean enough without brushing from behind the metal screen?

Thanks

not unless ur fan holes are open so you can attach a filter of some sort over the hole.

A Blockage of some sort, like having to take the case face plate off will make filter exchange difficult because u need to pull the face of the case off.

that being said... DeciM has custom filters for the 900.

Thanks Aigo,

Yes I looked at those filters from another post of yours but didn't get as far as the custom for 900. That looks like my best bet at this point and they will also allow a good gap between the filter and the fan faces.

Thanks, looks like a quick order is due.

Cheers

You wont hear me enough telling people how much i love them.

Just make sure if your using the magnetic tape.. make sure you completely clean your application area b4 applying the tape.

I noticed if u rush it.. and u got dust on your case... the tape will fall off over time.

Cleaning them is easy.. once its secured magnetically, you just need to pull them off, take them under a hose with some dish washing soap.

Wet the filter, then put a drop of dish washing soap and then work a lather on the filter.. and then just rince off.

If you do buy them... start a thread on your opinions about it! Let us know if you also think there god's gift to us PC modders, of if there is something u would do to make them better.
