Antec 1040 foolish question

How do I open the 5.25 front bay slot? I compressed the edges, tried to pull, push, shove and have come close to using a hammer. Unfortunately I love this case to much to do that. Yes, I read the manual. I don't understand the instructions. What a fool I am. I would like to install my CD-RW. I'm learning how to install hardware. My memory, video card and HSF were frightening but simple installations.

thanks for your help.

Are you talking about the metal, or plastic cover? The plastic blank is easy. Just sick your finger in the hole on the side, compress it and pull. It pops right out.

If it's the metal blank under the plastic, get a screw driver, put in in one of the holes and twist it up and down until the metal tabs break.

It worked. I thought that was how it was done. As a rookie I'm unsure of how much force to apply. The thing same happened when I installed my RAM. Then I read on the crucial site, "apply 20 pounds of pressure!" Thank-you again for taking the time to answer a trivial question.
