Small ant problem in my apartment. Got some Terro and sprayed it around ... if they keep coming back, any suggestions?

The place is actually pretty clean. I am thinking it is the neighbors and they are just making their way through.

I tried several things (different sprays, different baits) with no success. Off of advice from the forum, I got some Terro liquid ant bait. At first it attracted more ants than ever (they were all over the baits). Then a few days later, the ants were gone.

I am pretty sure the little bastards are living inside of my laptop.

I came home tonight and found little ants crawling all around my laptop. There was little white shit all over the cover of it too. I Googled it and apparently this is a common thing...WTF?

Ants like laptops? Warm and good electromagnetic field...supposedly...WTF.

They are using your computer to surf for ant porn and leaving the mess for you to clean up. D:

I'm told that the way to test is to pour a tablespoon of sugar on the floor and leave it for 24 hours. If even one ant shows up, you have ants. If there are no ants, you have an ant free house. If you do have ants, obviously clean the house. This is the number one reason you have ants. They don't go where there is no food. They will occasionally send in a scout to search for food, but if the scout either does not come back or comes back with a report of no food, your house will be passed over.

We had them this weekend. Our pest control company couldn't come out until today, so we bought some Terro and put it all out at once. The ants swarmed it and one of the walls in our kitchen was pretty much covered. Now they're all dead and we're leaving it out for another couple of days to catch any stragglers.

Best stuff I ever found.... I don't think the hotels will do it for you. With the Terro liquid they take it back to the nest and over a couple days that whole nest will be dead.

chop of their heads and put them on pins around your house to serve as a warning to the other ants.

antbaits with gel in them just don't work.

Seal all the food and clean the house, they will have no reason to come in.

They eat candies too, they go inside the plastic.

If you can't do this, then live with them.

the ant is a clean insect and doesn't bring anything in your house, stuff only goes out.

I really don't mind them as long as it's only an ant column or two and stay in the kitchen and dining room.

The only reason to hate them is when they bring aphids on your plants in your garden and then protect them to get the sugar.

i actually prefer the plain liquid that you put on the cardboard cutouts. and it's only because i like watching them all pile on to the little coin-sized amount on the cardboard, wringing my hands together and thinking in a sadistic, evil, mad scientist sort of way:

yes my precious little friends, eat up...eat as much as you want...eat it all!!! mwahahahahhaha!!!

The problem I've found with hotels is, unless they're the large black/red ants, they won't climb the plastic rim surrounding the hotel proper and will simply go around it. Terro's good, I've also had good luck with the Combat Ant-killing gel that comes in the plastic syringe.
