The answer? "When I get to the damned phone"

Usually, that's a sprint across the damned shop floor to the office because it never seems to ring when I'm doing paperwork - only when I'm at the far end of the floor.

I don't care about answering it between rings or whatever, it's when I get there.

I was actually talking about the office phone, but the same rule applies to cells. When you can get to it (or did it out of your pocket), answer it.

Home Phone/landline;
I let the answering machine answer 99% of the time.{No caller ID at home phone}

Nextel/work paid cell phone, I usually answer the 2 way calls.

Otherwise, I look to see who is calling, If I am not busy/
driving on the road.

If I am driving, normally, you will have to leave a message.

If I'm at home, I screen it with the answering machine... i'm tired of telling people they can't collect what I aint got...lol

At work.... I answer ASAP.
