I was watching this movie The Number 23 with Jim Carrey, and one of the characters was this pretty woman Lynn Collins, so I hit her up on IMDB and lo & behold, she is a cast member in production of..

X-Men Origins: Wolverine

So this is the story of Wolverine's life prior to him becoming an X-Man. Interesting. And it seems Hugh Jackman is in every other movie I watch these days. And he usually pulls it off well, so I look forward to this movie.
 
yeap. should be good. wonder how much they will stick to the comic.

I know I'll probably get dragged to go see it with my friends, but I've always been so 'meh' on Wolverine. never understood why he was so popular, he's always just seemed so boring to me, a walking cliche.

He represents the underdog, the little man, the come-from-behind victory. His attitude and persona are represented well by Mark Twain/Eisenhower's quote, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."

He is an "anti hero" in the sense that he shuns authority and the rules and traditional 'hero' stereotypes. In doing so, he takes on somewhat of a 'rebellious' nature that people identify with much more easily than the self-righteous attitude of many comic book heros.

His character also has more depth than just about any other comic book character out there.

And played by Ryan Reynolds, no less. Others may groan, but I think that actually may work out pretty well. Assuming the movie isn't garbage, of course.

I think Reynolds could work. He's got the snarky/sarcastic tone down pat. In fact, it's safe to say that's been his entire career.
 
The Wolverine one was announced right after X3 came out, but I hadn't heard about Magneto. Sweet.

I hope they put more effort into the scripts this time. I wanted so much to like the trilogy, and they were not quite up to snuff, given the immense amount of material and story depth normally seen in past X-Men works. Too much money spent wowing us with extra-flashy effects, rather than smoothly integrating them into the plot.

Bryan Singer did an awesome job with the first two, and I think the 3rd sucked because of him leaving. I hope the Wolverine movie has the same feel as the first 2 xmen movies.

i hope they do magneto right. i dont follow the comics but in the first movie they show his powers as a child. it would suck if they start his movie and start to show his powers when he is already in his 30's or some crap like that
 
blockbuster action movies are looking good over the next 2 years. They are leading into the Avengers.

Iron Man probably has been the closest to the 'real' character in the comics so far. Even then people have bitched about the drinking and sexuality he presented.

It's part of Iron Man. Even in the comic he goes off on a drunken binge and War Machine has to handle duties.

depth? he's a total cliche of the anti-hero with a heart of gold.
